Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first walked up to Ana’s place on Mediteranska, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot – but man, was I wrong. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of Budva, nothing fancy from the outside, but Ana’s apartment on the first floor? It’s actually got this cozy, lived-in feel that immediately puts you at ease. You know what I mean – not like those sterile hotel rooms where you’re afraid to touch anything.

The whole “1 minute from Old Town” thing isn’t just marketing fluff either. I timed it because, well, I’m that kind of person, and it’s literally a two-minute stroll to Porta Budva – the main entrance to the old walled city. You can actually hear the faint sounds of music from the restaurants and bars drifting over in the evenings, but it’s not so close that you’re kept up all night (I’m looking at you, apartments right on Njegoševa street). The bedroom faces away from the main drag, so mornings are surprisingly peaceful until maybe 9 AM when the city starts waking up properly.

What really got me was how Ana’s set up the space – it feels like someone’s actual home, not a rental property. The kitchen’s small but totally functional, and she’s stocked it with decent coffee (important!), plus there’s this little dining nook by the window where you can watch people heading to the beach with their umbrellas and chairs. The bathroom’s compact but clean, with good water pressure – honestly better than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at along the coast. There’s reliable WiFi throughout, which matters if you’re trying to upload those sunset photos from Mogren Beach or need to work a bit during your stay.

Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – I mean, it’s the old part of town, so the streets are narrow and spots fill up fast during July and August. But there’s a public lot about a 5-minute walk away near the market, and it’s way cheaper than trying to park closer to the fortress walls. Ana actually mentioned some local tricks for finding street parking early in the morning, which was super helpful.

The location really is the star here though. You’re walking distance from everything that matters – Slovenska Beach is maybe 8 minutes if you take your time, the Saturday market is right around the corner, and you can grab fresh bread from that little bakery on the corner (they open at 7 AM and the burek is incredible). Plus, if you want to explore beyond Budva, the bus station’s maybe a 15-minute walk, so day trips to Kotor or Cetinje are totally doable.

Look, it’s not luxury – the furniture’s a bit worn, and you can hear your upstairs neighbors sometimes – but for the price and location, Ana’s place delivers exactly what it promises. It’s clean, comfortable, and puts you right in the heart of everything without the tourist trap pricing of the hotels inside the old town walls. Perfect for a few days of exploring Montenegro’s coast without breaking the bank.
