Apartman Bećir
Apartman Bećir
You know, I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartman Bećir on Solidarnosti street – honestly, the address doesn't exactly scream "vacation paradise." But here's the thing about this little 3-star spot: it's got that authentic Montenegrin charm that the bigger hotels just can't fake.
You know, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Apartman Bećir on Solidarnosti street – honestly, the address doesn’t exactly scream “vacation paradise.” But here’s the thing about this little 3-star spot: it’s got that authentic Montenegrin charm that the bigger hotels just can’t fake. The building itself is pretty typical for this part of Budva, sort of tucked away from the main tourist drag, which actually turned out to be a blessing because you’re not dealing with crowds of people wheeling suitcases past your window at all hours.
What really won me over was how genuinely local the whole experience felt. Bećir himself (yeah, it’s actually run by the guy whose name is on the place) knows everything about the area – I mean everything. He’ll tell you which bakery opens earliest for fresh burek, where to park without getting a ticket, and honestly, his coffee recommendations alone made the stay worth it. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing fancy, but they’ve got that lived-in comfort that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel chain. The shower pressure is actually decent, which is more than I can say for some of the pricier places I’ve stayed in Montenegro. You can hear the occasional bit of street noise – Solidarnosti isn’t completely quiet – but it dies down after 10 PM, and there’s something oddly soothing about the distant sound of people heading home from the old town.
Here’s what I really appreciated: you’re about a 10-minute walk from Budva’s main beach and old town, but far enough away that you’re not paying tourist prices for every little thing. There’s a small grocery store literally around the corner, and the locals who frequent the nearby café will actually chat with you if you make an effort. The Wi-Fi works fine (I was working remotely part of the time), and Bećir was super flexible about check-in times, which saved me when my flight got delayed. Look, this isn’t going to be the most Instagram-worthy place you’ll ever stay, but if you want to experience Budva like someone who actually lives there rather than just passing through, Apartman Bećir nails it. Plus, at these prices, you’ll have more money left over for those amazing seafood dinners down by the marina – trust me, that’s where you want to be spending your euros anyway.
