Apartman Bošković

You know what struck me first about Apartman Bošković? It’s tucked away on Mediteranska Street in a way that feels almost hidden from the tourist chaos, but you’re still just a solid ten-minute walk to Budva’s Old Town. I mean, that’s the sweet spot right there – close enough that you’re not taking expensive taxi rides every time you want decent seafood, but far enough that you can actually sleep at night without drunk tourists singing outside your window at 2 AM.

The place itself is honestly what I’d call “no-nonsense comfortable.” It’s a 3-star setup that doesn’t try to be something it’s not, and there’s something refreshing about that. The apartments are clean and functional – you’ve got your kitchenette (which actually works, unlike some places I’ve stayed), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and air conditioning that’ll save your life during those brutal July afternoons when Budva feels like a brick oven. The owner, I’m pretty sure it’s someone from the Bošković family, seems to genuinely care about the place. Small details matter here – fresh towels that don’t smell weird, bathroom fixtures that aren’t held together with hope and prayer, that sort of thing. The balconies are nothing fancy, but you can sit out there in the evening with a beer from the Maxi market down the street and watch the neighborhood wind down for the day.

What I really appreciate is the location’s practicality. You’re walking distance from that little bakery on the corner that does amazing burek in the mornings – seriously, get there before 9 AM or they’re sold out. The beach is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, which means you can easily pop back to the apartment during the day to escape the sun or grab lunch without it being this whole production. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season (aren’t we all tired of that story in Montenegro?), but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. I’ve definitely stayed in pricier places along the coast that left me more frustrated than this did. If you’re the type who wants to experience Budva without paying resort prices or dealing with massive hotel lobbies full of tour groups, Apartman Bošković gets the job done with a kind of straightforward honesty that’s harder to find these days.
