Honestly, I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to this apartment on Spaska Street – I mean, it's tucked away in this narrow lane that you'd probably walk past without noticing.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to this apartment on Spaska Street – I mean, it’s tucked away in this narrow lane that you’d probably walk past without noticing. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones hiding in plain sight. The moment I stepped onto that balcony and saw the Adriatic stretching out toward the horizon, with Budva’s terracotta rooftops spilling down to the beach below, I got it. This is why people keep coming back to Montenegro.
The thing about staying on Spaska is that you’re actually living like a local for a few days, not just passing through like most tourists. There’s this little bakery about thirty seconds away where the owner – I think her name was Marija – makes these incredible burek pastries every morning around 7 AM (the smell will wake you up before your alarm does). You can walk to the Old Town walls in maybe three minutes, but here’s the kicker – you’re just far enough up the hill that you escape most of the evening noise from the bars and restaurants. Well, except during July when everything in Budva gets pretty lively, but even then it’s more of a distant hum than chaos right outside your window.
What really sold me on this place was how the owner actually seemed to care about the details. The apartment itself is simple – clean, functional, nothing fancy – but there’s good Wi-Fi (tested it extensively while working from the balcony), decent water pressure in the shower, and they’ve got this little kitchen setup that’s perfect if you want to grab fresh seafood from the market and cook dinner while watching the sunset. The bed’s comfortable enough, though the pillows are a bit soft if you’re used to firm ones. Parking can be tricky on Spaska since it’s basically one lane, but there’s usually space on the parallel street behind if you don’t mind a two-minute walk. During peak season you might need to circle around a few times, but honestly, that’s Budva for you – the price you pay for staying somewhere this close to everything that matters. I’d definitely book this again, especially in shoulder season when you can have that sea view mostly to yourself.
Hotels near me in Budva offer convenient access to the beach promenade, where guests can easily walk to ancient city walls, marina, and vibrant nightlife venues.
