You know what struck me first about Apartmani Bonik? It’s tucked right on 3. Jula street, which honestly most tourists walk past without noticing – but that’s actually the sweet spot. You’re maybe three minutes from all the Budva chaos, but when you collapse after a long day of dodging selfie sticks on Slovenska Plaza, it’s surprisingly quiet here.

The apartments themselves are what I’d call “honestly three-star” – and I mean that in the best way. No pretense, no trying-too-hard vibes, just clean, functional spaces that feel more like staying at your practical aunt’s place than some sterile hotel room. The kitchenettes are small but actually work (I made coffee every morning without wanting to throw anything), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in older Montenegrin buildings, you’ll appreciate that detail. The 7.9 rating feels spot-on – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it won’t disappoint either.

What I really liked was how the owner – I think his name was Nikola, though don’t quote me on that – actually seemed to care about the place running smoothly. Check-in was easy, he gave solid recommendations for restaurants away from the tourist traps (there’s this little spot called Konoba Stari Grad about ten minutes inland that he mentioned – incredible seafood risotto), and when our shower started making weird noises on day three, someone came to fix it within an hour. The location really grows on you too. Sure, you’re not beachfront, but honestly? Those places are loud until 3 AM and cost twice as much. From Bonik, you can walk to the Old Town walls in about eight minutes, hit the main beach in five, and there’s a decent bakery literally next door where locals actually buy their bread – always a good sign. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak summer months (July and August get pretty nuts), but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to actually explore Montenegro rather than just plant myself on the beach – it’s a solid home base without the tourist tax markup.

  t the mext moment, they were also very flexible when it came to change the apartment. The apartment looked really nice (both) with a comfortable bed and the AC worked excellently! Its in the center, max 20 mins walk from every important place, like beaches or the old town, yet its in a calm and silent small street..For me it was easy to find, but I already know the surroundings pretty well.🙃

  What could be improved: Walls are thin, you can hear your neighbours, it can be unpleasent if they get up early or go to bed late but a good ear plug can help.😄
  Parking is a nightmare just as usual in Budva, its not the apartments fault, but I had luck and found a good one on Mainski put, pretty close to the apartment.

  We liked the location near center but in a quiet neighbourhood. The room was clean and there was even a small balcony and kitchenette with fridge. The owners were very kind.
  
  What could be improved: The equipment of the room was quite old, especially in the bathroom. There was AC right above the bed, so the cold air was blowing directly on you when you were in the bed.

  The hosts are great. Very attentive people, very helpful. The issues we had were quickly fixed. The place is indeed quite, hidden from the main roads, offering an opportunity to seat and relax. The neighbors are nice and friendly too.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was quite basic, with the main amenities available. What did cause us discomfort was poor WiFi all week long, no chance for video calls and often even what connection we had was lost. It may be better in some other time but we're not sure and that's what we had. Also, the bathroom is tiny even as is. But the absence of some storage places/holders for the shower amenities made it even harder. We used other surfaces for storing stuff but I hope smth will be improved for this one. And we suggest a nice full size mirror on the door or cupboard will really help. For the rest of it, it was good. Thanks.)

  Comfortable apartment in a quiet area, close to the city center/old town and to the beach. The landlady was very nice. The area was both very calm and there were also all sorts of stores and restaurants nearby.
