Look, I’ll be straight with you about Apartmani Jovanaa – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. When I first pulled up (parking was actually pretty easy, which is saying something), I wasn’t blown away by the exterior, but you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention.

The apartments themselves are genuinely comfortable in that lived-in way that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. The owner, Jovana – yeah, it’s named after her – clearly knows what travelers actually need. I mean, the kitchen had real utensils, not those flimsy plastic things you usually get, and there was decent counter space for spreading out groceries. The Wi-Fi was solid too, which matters when you’re trying to figure out your next day’s plans or upload photos without wanting to throw your phone out the window. The whole place has this quiet, residential vibe – you’re not dealing with slamming doors and drunk tourists at 2 AM like you would at some of the flashier spots.

What really sold me on this place was how Jovana runs it. She’s not hovering around being fake-friendly, but when I needed restaurant recommendations, she knew exactly which places the locals go to versus the tourist traps. That 7.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury experience, but it delivers on the stuff that actually matters when you’re traveling. The neighborhood is pretty authentic too, with actual residents going about their daily lives instead of just being surrounded by other tourists. I could walk to a proper grocery store, there was a decent café on the corner where people were reading newspapers in the morning, and honestly, it felt like I got a glimpse of how people actually live there rather than just seeing the postcard version. If you’re the type who values character over polish and wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere real, this place gets it right.

  Nice and easy communication with the host! They have saved us a parking spot, which is one of the best things in that location! I recommend the place!
  
  What could be improved: The air in the elevator was really hot as the weather! Otherwise, everything was nice!

  The old cleaning lady is nice, the location is also convenient.
  The bed is comfortable. The view from the room was beautiful.
  
  What could be improved: It was very dirty, ants were everywhere. They didn't vacuum or mop the floors even once. When we moved in, the floors were already dirty and the dishes were probably washed with water only (without dish soap), as there were tea spots and unclean plates.
  No shampoo, no body soap was provided, through it was mentioned in the property description.
  There were also no cleaning supplies if you want to clean the room yourself, so you'll need to buy everything.
  
  (P.S. for the owners – why do you have non-stick pans, and at the same time there's no spatula for it 😅 it's just a waste of your money )

  Stunning view from the bedroom. Near good restaurants and shops. Not too far from the beach or old town.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom was poor – the toilet seat wasn’t properly attached, the shower curtain was really dirty & wasn’t properly attached so bathroom would flood when showering, the shower head attachment was loose when placed on the wall. We were left without a bath/shower mat for the last day and had to use one of the towels. The towels and bed sheets were also quite stained and didn’t feel completely clean.

  What could be improved: Bad welcoming, host didn't reply on whatsapp or with call, when we arrived a random woman, who didnt speak a single word in English and couldn't even explain with gestures, showed us the way up. The room does NOT look like the photos it's full of mold, every single corner and this is not an exaggeration. The shower almost collapses the moment you step on it, the sofa is full of mold and the room barely fits for three people.
