Apartmani Vila Marija
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Vila Marija on Jadranski put, I wasn't expecting much from the outside – it's tucked into the Gospoštine neighborhood, which locals know as one of those residential areas that's actually perfect if you want to escape the summer madness of Budva's Old Town but still be close enough to walk there.
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Vila Marija on Jadranski put, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside – it’s tucked into the Gospoštine neighborhood, which locals know as one of those residential areas that’s actually perfect if you want to escape the summer madness of Budva’s Old Town but still be close enough to walk there. The building itself has that typical Montenegrin apartment-villa vibe, nothing fancy, but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
The thing about this place is that it gets the basics right without trying too hard. My room was clean and had this little balcony where I could actually hear myself think – which, if you’ve ever stayed right in the center of Budva during July, you’ll appreciate. The owner, Marija (I’m assuming), seems to run a tight ship here. Check-in was smooth, she gave me actual useful tips about where to park (there’s street parking nearby, though it fills up fast in peak season), and honestly seemed to care that I had what I needed. The Wi-Fi worked fine, the air conditioning did its job, and the shower had decent pressure – I mean, these aren’t glamorous details, but they matter when you’re dealing with Budva’s summer heat and crowds.
What I really liked was the location once I figured it out. You’re about a 10-minute walk from the beach and maybe 15 from the Old Town walls, but you’re in this quieter residential pocket where actual Montenegrins live. There’s a little market just down the street where I grabbed breakfast stuff, and the walk into town takes you past some of those traditional stone houses that haven’t been turned into souvenir shops yet. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings – you’ll hear families talking on their balconies, kids playing football in the small courtyards – but it dies down by 11 PM, which was perfect for sleeping. During the day, I could hear the distant buzz from the main tourist areas, but it felt like I was staying somewhere real instead of in a tourist bubble. For a 3-star place, Vila Marija delivers on being comfortable and unpretentious. It’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy interiors, but if you want a clean, peaceful base for exploring Budva without paying resort prices or dealing with resort crowds, this actually works really well.

FIT FOR PURPOSE EASY CHECKIN AND A CARPARK AND A SHORT WALK INTO TOWN
What could be improved: BETTER BLINDS ON WINDOWS NEED BLOCKOUT SUN BLINDS
Overall nice experience but if you want to cook the kitchen is not really equipped for that. The accommodation is really close to the city center and the beach. Free parking is also, because there is not many options in the city it self. The host is really nice lady. Perfect views.
What could be improved: There is only one electric stove, which never got the water boiling even when pouring the hot water directly from electric kettle. There is only one pot in the kitchen.
Very Good Superb facilities ,old town and beach in walkable distance.
host was so nice.
Strategic location, good host, everything you need is here The property is a bit older, however there is everything you need here. Good location, kitchen, wifi, private bathroom, cookware, AC and heater, couch to sit on, fridge, and even a balcony. A nice entry way, and a private door, down below. the location is not more than 2 or 3 blocks from the beach and other major parts like the old town.
What could be improved: Property is a bit dated, showing its age, but its still a good value for the price.
Top location and free parking Top location and the parking.
The location is near to the center, the beach and the old town.
The parking is public, but Marija helped us to park our car near to the accommodation.
What could be improved: It's an old apartment, but I knew when I booked the apartment. So, it's not a negative side from my side.
Good the quality matches the price
Very Good Sea view
What could be improved: Old fashioned
Beautiful view, comfy bed, amazing location, cute cats Beautiful view, easy to find, friendly host, cute cats, lovely balcony, big comfy bed, excellent location - only 5 mins to old town
What could be improved: Little bit dated/old fashioned and not sparkling clean, but for the price not a problem
Good The size of the room and the location
Good Very close to the old town, 10 minutes' walk, friendly owner. Parking space, very important for Budva.
What could be improved: Old and used furniture, doors, shower, everything. Not very clean either. Is the cheapest in the area, though.
