While everyone else is crammed into those big resort complexes right on the Budva waterfront dealing with noise and crowds, you’re up here in what feels like an actual Montenegrin neighborhood where locals are walking their dogs and hanging laundry.

The apartments themselves are simple but thoughtfully done – I mean, this isn’t luxury by any stretch, but everything works and it’s spotlessly clean. What really got me was how quiet it is at night. After spending a few nights in central Budva where you can hear every drunk British tourist stumbling home at 3am, the silence here was actually kind of shocking. The owner, I’m assuming that’s Zecevic, clearly knows what travelers need – decent Wi-Fi (actually tested it, works fine for video calls), proper blackout curtains, and a kitchen setup where you can actually cook real meals instead of just heating up instant noodles. The bathroom had one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has good water pressure, which honestly made my whole week.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to figure out – you’re maybe a 10-minute drive down to the old town and beaches, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the stuff most people miss. There’s this little bakery about a 5-minute walk away where locals grab their morning burek, and the woman there doesn’t speak much English but she’ll load you up with the best pastries for like 2 euros. The bus connections are surprisingly good too if you don’t have a car – there’s a stop maybe 200 meters away that gets you down to Budva proper, though I’d recommend renting something if you want to really explore the coast. Parking here is never an issue either, which anyone who’s tried to park near Budva’s old town will appreciate. Look, it’s not fancy and you won’t be posting Instagram shots of an infinity pool, but that 9.5 rating isn’t an accident. Sometimes the best places are the ones that just get all the basics right without any fuss.
