Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartment Emines on Jadranski put, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up surprising you, and this little apartment definitely has its charms, especially if you’re the type who’d rather feel like a temporary local than a tourist passing through.

The location is actually pretty sweet – you’re right in the heart of Budva but on a side street that doesn’t get the crazy foot traffic of the main pedestrian areas. I mean, you can still hear the buzz from the old town when things get lively (and trust me, they do get lively around here, especially in July and August), but it’s not like you’re trying to sleep above a nightclub. The apartment itself sits on the first floor, which honestly worked out great because I didn’t have to haul my luggage up three flights of narrow stairs like I did at my last place in Kotor. Parking was… well, let’s just say it’s Budva in summer, so expect to do some creative maneuvering, but there are spots if you’re patient.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile – you know those vacation rentals that feel like nobody’s ever actually relaxed in them? This isn’t that. The apartment has this comfortable, slightly worn-around-the-edges vibe that somehow makes you feel more at home. The kitchen actually has the stuff you need if you want to grab ingredients from the green market (which, by the way, is just a short walk down toward the harbor – go early for the best tomatoes). And here’s something the photos don’t really capture: the natural light is fantastic during the day, which makes a bigger difference than you’d think when you’re trying to decompress from all that Mediterranean sun. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but it delivers on the basics and then some. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the shower actually has decent water pressure, which after three weeks of traveling through the Balkans, felt like a small miracle. If you’re looking for a place where you can spread out a bit, cook a meal, and feel connected to the rhythm of Budva without being right in the thick of the tourist chaos, this spot hits that sweet spot between comfort and authenticity.
