Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Budva, and Apartment Maja on Vojvodjanska street is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you cracked some local code. It’s tucked into this residential area that most tourists completely miss – you know, where actual Montenegrins live rather than just the coastal strip packed with beach bars and overpriced cafes. The building itself isn’t going to win any architecture awards, but once you’re inside… well, that 9.4 rating starts making perfect sense.
What really got me was how thoughtfully everything’s set up. I mean, you can tell someone actually lives in these spaces rather than just running them as a business. The kitchen has proper knives (revolutionary concept, right?), there’s decent coffee in the cupboard, and – this might sound silly but trust me on this – the shower pressure is absolutely fantastic. After a day walking around Budva’s old town in the summer heat, that matters more than any fancy lobby. The apartment’s on the fourth floor, and while there’s no elevator, the climb is totally worth it for how quiet it gets at night. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from all the action on the coast, but you actually sleep instead of listening to drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to figure out – you’re perfectly positioned between the old town and the newer parts of Budva, plus there’s this little bakery two streets over that opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible burek pastries. The locals line up there every morning, which is always a good sign. Parking can be a bit tricky (honestly, it’s Budva in summer, parking’s tricky everywhere), but there are spots along the street if you’re not too picky about walking a block or two. The host was pretty straightforward about check-in – no fuss, just practical information about where to find the best grocery store and which beach areas get too crowded by noon. You know what really sealed it for me though? On my last morning, I was sitting on the little balcony with my coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up – kids heading to school, older folks walking to the market, cats doing their usual cat things – and it felt like I was actually staying somewhere real rather than just passing through some sanitized tourist bubble. For a 3-star place, Apartment Maja delivers way beyond what you’d expect, especially if you value genuine comfort over flashy amenities.
Hotel in Budva booking should be done early, especially during summer season when the city hosts internationally popular music festivals and beach parties.
