You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from this place when I first booked it – I mean, it’s technically just an apartment rental in Old Town Budva, not some fancy hotel chain. But honestly, this turned out to be one of those hidden gems that make you feel pretty smug about your travel choices.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, and I’m not just throwing around travel clichés here. You’re literally in the heart of Budva’s medieval walls, which means you can stumble out your door and be at Slovenska Beach in maybe three minutes (I timed it after a few rakijas one evening). The cobblestone streets can be a bit tricky with luggage – fair warning – but once you’re settled, you’ll love being able to duck into those tiny konobas for dinner without dealing with taxis or long walks. The Old Town gets pretty lively at night, especially during summer, so if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack some earplugs. Though honestly, the buzz kind of adds to the whole experience.

What really impressed me was how well-maintained everything felt for what’s essentially a 3-star setup. The apartment itself had that perfect balance of old-world charm (you can actually see parts of the ancient stone walls) and modern necessities that actually work – which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in this part of Montenegro. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Budva base. The owner was incredibly responsive too, which I appreciated since I had about a dozen questions about parking (pro tip: there’s a paid lot just outside the city walls that’s way less stressful than trying to navigate the narrow streets).

I loved being able to grab fresh burek from that little bakery near Trg Poeta in the mornings, then spend the day exploring without feeling tied to hotel meal schedules. Plus, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips – Kotor is maybe 45 minutes away, and if you want to escape the crowds, some of the locals pointed me toward Jaz Beach, which is gorgeous and way less packed than the main strips. The whole setup just felt authentic in a way that bigger hotels sometimes miss, you know? Like you’re actually living in Budva for a few days rather than just passing through.

  Cozy place to stay, we found everything we needed inside. Easy to walk to the beach, old town, there is a lot of markets, shops near the apartment.

  Spacious apartment in a great location, just a short walk from the beach and 10 minutes from Budva Old Town. However, there were a few issues during our stay. The hot water in the shower lasted only a couple of minutes, and there was an occasional sewage smell. Additionally, one of the table legs broke, and when we mentioned it to the host, the response was somewhat dismissive. For the price, we had hoped for a higher standard of quality and service

  What could be improved: Construction site going on around it so noisy early morning and access from the street not easy.
  
  The bathroom flooded and obviously had five previously as the door did not open fully due to swelling if the wood.
  
  There was no dust clothes for washing or drying dishes.
  
  The tap in the kitchen dripped.
  
  There was a dish washer but as there was not sufficient crockery, we needed to wash them up so we could all eat at one time.
  
  It was disorganized in that the cupboard had rubbish thrown in it, people’s old used slippers, left overs from previous stays of rubbish bags, toilet rolls etc. It does not present well. Sheets were just left in the couch for where my dins had to sleep. I had to find the pillows in a cupboard.
  
  It lacked the ‘ welcome’ affect.

  What could be improved: To su bas bass sitnice. Vrata ulazna fale im 2,3 mm da bi se lepo zatvarala i vrata od kupatila ko ne vodi racuna moze lako razvaliti staklo od tus kabine jer nemaju kocnicu ili nesto da ih zaustavi do istog tog stakla. Al to su bas gluposti inace apqrtman zq svaku pohvalu i preporuku!!!
