Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Apartment Podkosljun on Pančevačka street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But man, was I wrong. This little gem sits in one of those quieter pockets of Budva where you actually get some peace after spending your days dodging the crowds down at the Old Town beaches.

The thing that struck me right away was how the owners – and I mean this in the best way – clearly give a damn about this place. You know how sometimes you walk into accommodations and everything feels sort of… tired? Not here. The apartment I stayed in had this lived-in but well-cared-for vibe, like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. The kitchen was actually functional (not just for show), which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in Budva every meal gets expensive fast. And the bed – I mean, I’m not usually the guy who notices mattresses, but I slept like a rock every night.

What really won me over though was the location. Pančevačka street might not sound glamorous, but it’s perfectly positioned. You’re close enough to walk to the main action in about 10 minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the late-night party noise that echoes through the Old Town until 3am. There’s this little bakery just around the corner where locals actually go – not touristy at all – and their burek will spoil you for anywhere else. The owners mentioned that most guests discover it by day three and then show up there every morning, which is exactly what happened to me.

Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which if you’ve driven around Budva in summer, you know that’s basically a miracle. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no standing around for ages while they explain seventeen different amenities you’ll never use. Just keys, a genuine smile, and some solid local recommendations that actually panned out.

I get why this place has such a high rating. It’s not trying to be fancy or impress you with marble lobbies or whatever. It’s just… right. Clean, comfortable, run by people who seem to understand what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. The Wi-Fi worked consistently (crucial for me), the shower had proper water pressure, and there were enough outlets in sensible places – you know, those basic things that can make or break a stay but nobody thinks to mention until they’re missing.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some sterile hotel bubble. Plus, at these prices with this quality, it’s honestly a steal for Budva. Just don’t tell everyone – I’d like to be able to book it again next summer.
