Hotel Description

You know what surprised me about Apartment Val? It’s one of those places that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but once you’re settled in, you realize why it consistently gets such solid ratings. I mean, an 8.4 out of 10 for a three-star spot – that doesn’t happen by accident.

The thing is, this isn’t really a traditional hotel at all. It’s more like staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment, which honestly makes way more sense if you’re planning to stick around for more than just a night or two. The rooms have that lived-in feel – not shabby, just comfortable in a way that sterile hotel chains never quite manage. There’s actual counter space in the kitchenette (revolutionary, I know), and the coffee maker isn’t one of those sad single-serve things that barely produces lukewarm brown water. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the space, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places still can’t nail that.

What really sold me was the attention to little details that matter when you’re trying to feel human while traveling. Decent lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and – this might sound weird – but the shower has proper water pressure. I’ve stayed in five-star places where you feel like you’re being gently misted by an apologetic cloud. Here, you can actually rinse shampoo out of your hair without doing some elaborate dance routine. The neighborhood itself has this quiet, residential vibe during weekdays, though it picks up on weekends when locals are out and about. You’ll hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but it’s the normal sounds of people living their lives, not party chaos or construction at dawn.

The staff – well, they’re more like helpful neighbors than hotel employees, if that makes sense. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no upselling or lengthy explanations of amenities you’ll never use. They actually know the area and can point you toward the good stuff without steering you to tourist traps. Honestly, for the price point and that rating, Apartment Val delivers exactly what it promises – a comfortable, no-nonsense place to crash that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s perfect if you want somewhere reliable to come back to after long days exploring, without paying for a bunch of fancy services you probably won’t use anyway.

    What could be improved: Internet didn’t work, or it was very poor working.

    The location is really close to the Old Town. It's a bit up on the hill, but it's not a problem for us as we went by car. They have their own parking area right in front. The host was really responsive and answered our questions quickly. The place is clean, quiet and close to local markets.

    What could be improved: On the first day, we were really cold and couldn't use the air conditioning. So, the host brought extra heaters and blankets, but we were still freezing. The next day, the air conditioning problem was fixed. The host was so helpful and always there for us with anything we needed.

    Location is a bit up in the hill, so if you are not fit, you could face some issues. But for us, it was fine. We preferred that way so we could easily park the car as well. However, in 5-8 mins walk, you will reach main road.
    The bed is quite comfortable, the kitchen is small but well equipped. The owner changed the towels every 2 days.
    There is little patio to sit and also dry the clothes.

    The owner was very responsive and replied to us fast whenever we had questions. There was problem with wifi, but she tried her best to accomodate it. Thanks

    What could be improved: Improvement: maybe add spatula in addition to the pan and also trash bin near small kitchen 🙂

    *We reserved the place 8 months before the travel, so the deal was supper dupper for us
    *The terrace was so enough as a gathering place of the household 🙂 there is no other commen place but we havent felt the lacking.
    *The location is so close to the downtown if you follow the pedestrian shortcuts, like stairs etc.
    *The house is at some hill, so we could feel a little breeze at 42C days, it was precious.
    *There is an iron, it is excellent when you are travelling with a cabin baggage

    What could be improved: *there is two bedrooms but the house only have one air conditioner. The one with AC become Winterfell while you try to cool the other one. 🙂
    *Finding parking spot becomes jeopardy if you come home late. (after midnight)

    The apartment is located at the heart of Budva, there is a slope but it’s manageable. I booked the apartment for 3 people and it was enough for us. The apartment was clean enough to stay at. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was tiny. The AC was working well however there wasn’t an AC in the second bedroom which was still alright once you made it work for a while, it flew through the whole apartment equally. The owner, Vanja, was nice. She responded all of my questions in no time. She kept the apartment ready one day before my arrival and I was able to check in at 6 am. It was very thoughtful. She was there to help. I highly recommend for you to book this apartment.

    nice, rather new and clean. Two separate bedrooms with small lights and cabinet on each side of bed. Very practical. Quiet place because at the end of a road on the hill. I only heard the neighbours once.

    What could be improved: like most apartments that come with a parking spot, you have to drive into the hill which is ok for drivers who know how to drive.

    The apartment was clean. Owner was kind.

    What could be improved: There was a lack of timely communication with the owner. I had to buy abroad package to communicate with the owner as we waited outside for half an hour after agreed check-in time and no body showed up. The location of the apartment is very hard to find by offline map as it shows somewhere else. 16-17 mins walking distance from the old town. Internet signals were very low, we could not use it.

    What could be improved: The location of the place was not feasible. We literally had zero idea after reaching there on how to enter the place as there was no one to receive us or let us know about the keys. We had to ask neighbors who didn't even know English in order to enter the apartment. Had a hard time.

    The pictures of the apartment was very pleasing and spacious but the actual place is a small apartment with only the master bedroom being very spacious and with all the amenities. The 2nd bedroom is not at all spacious and on top of that there was no AC, though the weather being very hot.

    In total me and my friends were not satisfied with the stay and service they provided. Not recommended.
