Honestly, when I first pulled up to Apartment ViSi 101 on Jadranski put, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into one of those newer lamela buildings that seem to pop up everywhere along Montenegro’s coast. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming places end up being the real gems, and this little apartment definitely falls into that category.

The location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re close enough to Budva’s old town that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes (though honestly, I’d grab a taxi back uphill after a night out), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the summer crowds stumbling past your window at 3 AM. The building itself sits on this quieter stretch where you’ll mostly hear families chatting on balconies and the occasional car – which, trust me, is gold during peak season when the main strip turns into absolute chaos. There’s decent parking around the building too, though like everywhere in Budva, you’ll want to get back before evening when spots become scarce.

What really impressed me about ViSi 101 was how thoughtfully it’s set up inside. The apartment feels way more spacious than you’d expect from the outside, and whoever designed it actually gets what travelers need – proper kitchen basics (not just a sad mini-fridge), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and a washing machine that’s honestly a lifesaver if you’re staying more than a few days. The balcony isn’t huge, but it catches this nice morning light where you can actually sit with coffee and plan your day without feeling rushed. I particularly loved that they’ve got blackout curtains – small detail, but crucial when those summer sunrises hit at 5:30 and you’re not quite ready to face the world yet. The whole place stays surprisingly cool too, even during those sticky July afternoons when the coast feels like a sauna.

The hosts are the type who clearly live locally and know their stuff – they’ll point you toward the better bakeries (skip the touristy ones near Slovenska Plaza, seriously) and can tell you which beaches get crazy crowded by noon. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, no weird complications or surprise fees that sometimes pop up with vacation rentals. I mean, it’s not luxury by any stretch – the bathroom’s compact and the furniture is more functional than fancy – but everything works properly and feels clean and well-maintained. For a 3-star spot, it honestly overdelivers on the basics while giving you that local neighborhood feel that’s getting harder to find as Budva gets more developed. If you want to experience Montenegro’s coast without paying resort prices or dealing with hotel lobby crowds, this little apartment hits that sweet spot perfectly.
