You know what struck me first about Apartments Aleksić? The location is almost stupidly perfect – like, you’re literally on Vuka Karadžića street, which means you can stumble out your door and you’re already wandering the cobblestones of Budva’s Old Town. I mean, most places claim to be “in the heart” of something, but this one actually delivers on that promise.

The apartments themselves have this really nice balance going on. They’re modern enough that everything works properly (the AC actually cools things down, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes), but they haven’t stripped away all the character in some sterile renovation attempt. The stone walls are the real deal – thick old walls that keep things surprisingly quiet even when the Old Town gets lively at night. And honestly, it does get lively. You’re maybe a two-minute walk from Citadela, the old fortress area, and all those little restaurants tucked into the ancient walls. The sound carries differently in these narrow streets though, so it’s more like a gentle hum of conversation and clinking glasses rather than party noise.

What I really appreciated was how the owners – the Aleksić family, obviously – seem to actually understand what travelers need. The kitchenettes are properly equipped, not just for show, which matters because eating out for every meal in Montenegro can add up fast. Plus there’s something nice about making morning coffee and sitting by the window watching locals head off to work while tourists are still figuring out their day. The grocery store on Njegoševa street is maybe a three-minute walk if you need supplies. Parking is… well, it’s Old Town parking, so basically forget about driving right up to the door. But there’s a public lot just outside the walls that’s totally manageable – I’d actually recommend it since driving these narrow streets can be a bit nerve-wracking anyway. The 9.8 rating isn’t just inflated review padding, either. You can tell in the details – good water pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, proper hangers in the closet instead of those weird hooks. Small stuff that adds up to a much better stay. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward key-juggling or complicated instructions about temperamental door locks.
