I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the old town’s stone walls and that gorgeous Mogren Beach, but far enough back that you won’t hear drunk tourists singing at 3 AM.

The thing that really got me about this place is how the owner – I think her name was Marija – actually cares about the details that matter. Like, the apartments have these little balconies where you can drink your morning coffee and watch the locals heading to work, which sounds mundane but is actually pretty perfect when you’re trying to ease into vacation mode. The rooms are clean in that “someone’s grandmother would approve” way, and the air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in July). What I wasn’t expecting was how quiet it gets at night – there’s something about being just off the main drag that filters out most of the coastal chaos. The WiFi is solid too, which saved me when I needed to sort out some work stuff.

Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Budva – you get the best of both worlds without paying old town prices. Walk downhill for ten minutes and you’re at Slovenska Plaza with all the beach bars and jet ski rentals, or head the other direction toward the bus station area where locals actually eat (there’s this tiny bakery that does amazing burek, though I can never remember its name). The building itself is nothing fancy – it’s one of those white Mediterranean-style places that blend into the hillside – but everything works, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s usually a parking spot somewhere nearby if you’ve got a rental car. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because, well, sometimes you find a place that just feels right, you know? It’s not trying to be anything more than a comfortable base for exploring Montenegro’s coast, and honestly, that’s exactly what most people need.
