You know what surprised me most about Apartments Ilinka? Walking in, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – I mean, let’s be real, those ratings can be pretty hit or miss. But this little gem completely changed my mind about apartment-style stays, and now I get why it’s sitting at that crazy 9.9 rating.

The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed flat than some sterile hotel room. Each apartment has this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – you’ll find actual coffee mugs (not those tiny hotel cups), a proper dining table where you can spread out your maps and laptops, and kitchen spaces that are genuinely functional. I actually ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because the local market had these incredible fresh pastries and the little stovetop worked perfectly. The beds are surprisingly solid too, none of that sinking-in-the-middle nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. What really sold me was the attention to small things – good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually block light, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every twenty minutes when you’re trying to video call home.

The staff here really knows their stuff, and I don’t just mean the basic check-in routine. When I mentioned I was looking for a decent place to grab dinner that wasn’t too touristy, the front desk guy (I think his name was Marco?) didn’t just point me toward the nearest restaurant strip. Instead, he sketched out this little hand-drawn map to a family-run place about ten minutes away where locals actually eat. Honestly, that meal ended up being one of the highlights of my whole trip. The neighborhood itself has this authentic feel – you hear kids playing in the courtyard in the evenings, there’s a small grocery store that stays open late just around the corner, and the morning sounds are more church bells and coffee shop chatter than traffic noise. Parking was easier than I expected too, which anyone who’s driven in European city centers will appreciate. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevator is one of those old-school European ones that fits maybe two people and a suitcase, but honestly, that just adds to the charm. If you’re someone who prefers the anonymity and room service of a big hotel chain, this might not be your scene. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living somewhere for a few days rather than just passing through, Apartments Ilinka nails that balance between comfort and authenticity that’s surprisingly hard to find.

  What could be improved: 10 points for the hotel and its owners but the location is a bit uphill. It was difficult to walk with children. You can get off by car, you will find a parking place, but there is traffic. It would be perfect if there was also a coffee machine.

  The apartment is located around 20 mins from the beach. It’s a little bit steep to get there, but the view from the balcony is amazing! There was everything we needed and much more! There’s a lot of space in the apartment, enough for the family of 4. The hosts are very helpful and kind. We are very happy with our stay.
