Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Apartments Mara Lux? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with fancy lobbies or marble everything, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, with a rating of 8.7, people are clearly onto something here – and honestly, after staying there, I get it.
The apartments themselves are really well thought out. Not huge, but cleverly designed so you don’t feel cramped. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I’ve stayed in places where they give you a hot plate and call it cooking facilities), and there’s enough counter space to actually prep a meal if you want to skip restaurants for a night. The Wi-Fi is solid – I was working remotely part of the time and never had those annoying drop-outs that make you want to throw your laptop out the window. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing; you’d think with “apartments” you might hear your neighbors watching TV or arguing about dinner plans, but it was surprisingly quiet. Even the hallways have this muffled quality that just feels peaceful.
The location is really well positioned – you’re not stuck in some tourist bubble, but you’re not stranded in the middle of nowhere either. There’s this great little café about two blocks away that locals actually go to (you can tell because the menu isn’t in four languages), and I found myself grabbing coffee there most mornings instead of making it in the room. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that “let me tell you about seventeen amenities you’ll never use” speech, just friendly and efficient. The staff seems to actually know the area when you ask questions, which is rarer than it should be. Sure, it’s technically a 3-star place, so don’t expect a concierge or turndown service, but that’s kind of the point. You get clean, comfortable, well-located accommodation without paying for a bunch of stuff you probably don’t need anyway. I’d definitely book it again – sometimes the places that just focus on doing the basics really well end up being the most satisfying.

amazing
Tanya from Australia – 12 September 2024 (8/10)
Very clean room in great location close to beach, restaurants and supermarket.
What could be improved: Room was on top floor and lots of steps to get suitcases up. No tea bags/coffee or soap for shower. Had to purchase all for a few days stay.Lucy from United Kingdom – 27 August 2024 (9/10)
The woman who looks after the apartment is such a lovely person. The location is great, only a 2 minute walk to the supermarket and short walk into the old town/Mogren beach. The room is spacious, clean and modern. The wifi worked perfectly with no issues. Everything was perfect!

Very nice people
What could be improved: Needs a bigger fridgeIrene from Italy – 15 August 2024 (8/10)
The position of the room is excellent: close to the old town, but quite and away from noise and music. The room is spacious, nicely decorated and with a lovely balcony. Towels are changed every other day.
What could be improved: Even if the lady who welcomed us is really genuine and friendly, she does not speak a single word of english, so communication can be hard. It would be helpful if she gave written instructions in english at the check-in, to avoid any misunderstanding.
Some small aspects could be ameliorated to make the room perfect: 1) add a shelf in the shower box; 2) the small fridge is not really working; 3) bed sheets could be adjusted in size, as they tend to unwrap from the mattress; 4) bigger garbage bin.Kevin from Germany – 1 August 2024 (9/10)
Very nice Apartment
Katarzyna from Poland – 15 July 2024 (9/10)
A spacious, clean room with a big tree behind the balcony that created a great shade on hot days. The apartment is perfectly located close to the Old Town and the best beach in Budva, Mogren Beach. A supermarket down the street is also an added value.
Roger from Poland – 10 July 2024 (8/10)
It was extremely clean and modern with a fantastic balcony and in an ideal location for Budva. We also absolutely loved the host. A lovely lady who.
What could be improved: Although I would definitely recommend other people to stay here, a couple of things were lower standard than other places we stayed in Montenegro. Firstly, the double bed was two singles pushed together. So one of us always ended up sleeping in the gap. Second, the bed sheets didn’t fit the bed so we’d wake up during the night lying directly on the mattress because the sheets would get scrunched up. Third, the fridge didn’t really get cold. Would’ve been nice to come back to the room after a long day in the sun and have a cold drink there (the fridge was set to the coldest setting). Other places in Montenegro had no problem providing these three things and often also had a kitchen, whereas this place doesn’t have a kitchen. Still, the price was pretty good for this location and not having a kitchen was ok for us.Mikael from Norway – 7 July 2024 (8/10)
The rooms was very clean and modern. All the facilities was as said on the web. The location was incredible. Being only 3 minutes to walk to old town it was perfect.
What could be improved: The staff at the location did not speak English. You have to walk through a garbage area which smelled horrible, to get to the apartments.Polina from North Macedonia – 3 July 2024 (8/10)
Everything, close to the beach and the centar, kind staff, clean.
What could be improved: Very poor soundproofing, very few towel racks and no drying rack on the terrace.
