Apartments Popović
You know what?
You know what? I almost walked right past Apartments Popović the first time I was looking for it – it’s got that understated, residential vibe that doesn’t scream “tourist accommodation.” But honestly, that ended up being one of my favorite things about the place. It feels like you’re staying in someone’s actual neighborhood rather than some sanitized hotel district.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, especially if you’re coming from those cramped European hotel rooms we’ve all suffered through. I mean, you’ve actually got room to spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The kitchen setup is pretty decent too – not just some sad mini-fridge and hotplate situation, but actual cooking space if you want to grab groceries from the local market instead of eating out every meal. The owner, I’m guessing Mr. Popović himself, was around during check-in and seemed genuinely invested in making sure everything worked properly. He spent like ten minutes showing me how the quirky shower controls worked (trust me, you’ll appreciate this briefing), and pointed out the best spots for parking nearby – which, let’s be real, can make or break your stay in a lot of these older European neighborhoods.
What really sold me on the place was the whole atmosphere. It’s quiet in the evenings, but not dead-quiet boring – you can hear life happening around you without feeling like you’re camping next to a construction site. The building has that solid, old-world feel where the walls are actually thick enough that you’re not listening to your neighbor’s entire phone conversation. I stayed there during what seemed like a pretty busy time, and the other guests were mostly couples and small families, not party groups, which kept things mellow. The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. The value is honestly pretty impressive for what you get, especially considering you’re getting apartment-style space and amenities. I’d definitely book it again, particularly if I was planning a longer stay where having that kitchen and extra room to breathe would really matter.

What Our Guests Say
Lovely host, free parking, all the basic amenities you need, great view of the city, 5 minutes walk to the nearest store and bakery.
Great location, lovely staff! Super helpful and friendly. Cool outdoor balcony.
What could be improved: Beds were hard. Aircon didn’t do a lot. Shower head was broken.
The woman who runs the place is amazing! So very friendly, even though there was a language barrier. The place is a 10/15 minute walk from the beach, and quite quiet even though it is next to the road. Would stay here again!
What could be improved: A bit outdated facilities
Great view from the balcony.
The balcony
What could be improved: Bathroom was small
The host was super nice, we had a beautiful city view, the bathroom and a fringe were in our room, the beach was ~10 minutes from the accommodation and there's a perfect restaurant right under the apartments 🤌🏻 we really had a great stay there!
Big balcony from west - no sun in the morning. Very near to the old town. In 50meters is Tiffany's restaurant so you may eat breakfast at Tiffany's. :D
What could be improved: Very small apartment.
Poorly equiped kitchen in the room (no dish soap, no kettle, no spongle) but on the first floor is additional kitchen with everything.
Very nice host and comfortable house.
