Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Apartments Villa Jovovic when I first booked it – the name made it sound pretty formal, but it’s actually this really charming family-run place that feels more like staying at someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. You know what struck me first? The moment I walked in, there was this genuine warmth from the staff that you just can’t fake. They actually remembered my name by the second day, which sounds small but made such a difference.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – I mean, way more room than you’d get at most places in this price range. Mine had this little kitchenette that was actually functional (not just for show), and I found myself making coffee there every morning instead of heading out right away. The furnishings aren’t fancy or Instagram-perfect, but they’re comfortable and thoughtfully chosen. There’s good natural light, decent WiFi that didn’t cut out during my video calls, and honestly the beds are pretty solid – I’m picky about mattresses and slept well every night. The bathroom was clean and modern, though the shower pressure could be a bit stronger if I’m being completely honest.

What really sets this place apart is how the Jovovic family runs it. They’re not just going through the motions – Mrs. Jovovic (I think that was her name) gave me these incredibly detailed recommendations for local restaurants that weren’t touristy at all, and she was spot-on about which ones to hit for lunch versus dinner. The location works well too, though it’s not right in the thick of everything, which I actually preferred. You’re far enough from the main drag that it’s quiet at night – I could sleep with the windows open without street noise keeping me awake – but close enough that a ten-minute walk gets you to the good stuff. There’s this little bakery around the corner that locals line up at in the mornings, and I would never have found it without their tip.

I stayed during shoulder season, so I can’t speak to how crazy it gets in peak summer, but the vibe was relaxed and unhurried when I was there. Check-in was smooth, parking was straightforward (they have their own spots, which is clutch), and they were flexible when I needed to store my bags after checkout. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For the money, especially if you want that apartment-style setup where you can spread out a bit and maybe prepare some of your own meals, Villa Jovovic is a solid choice. I’d definitely stay there again.

  Our host was very kind and helpful. Easy free parking outside the apartment. About 10min walk from downtown.

  Our host is very nice and friendly! Room is in a good size, bed is large enough and comfy. Also walkable distance to Budva old town. So you can get a bit of both as in quiet moment and city life.

  The accommodation is very well located, just a few minutes' walk from the old town. The flat has everything you need. The private car park is right in front of the accommodation.
  The owners are very friendly and super helpful. The communication worked perfectly.
  We used the washing machine in the flat. The owners provided us with washing powder for this and also dried and ironed our clothes. That wasn't mandatory.
  We would book the accommodation again at any time.
