There’s good natural light, decent WiFi that didn’t cut out during my video calls, and honestly the beds are pretty solid – I’m picky about mattresses and slept well every night. The bathroom was clean and modern, though the shower pressure could be a bit stronger if I’m being completely honest.

What really sets this place apart is how the Jovovic family runs it. They’re not just going through the motions – Mrs. Jovovic (I think that was her name) gave me these incredibly detailed recommendations for local restaurants that weren’t touristy at all, and she was spot-on about which ones to hit for lunch versus dinner. The location works well too, though it’s not right in the thick of everything, which I actually preferred. You’re far enough from the main drag that it’s quiet at night – I could sleep with the windows open without street noise keeping me awake – but close enough that a ten-minute walk gets you to the good stuff. There’s this little bakery around the corner that locals line up at in the mornings, and I would never have found it without their tip.

I stayed during shoulder season, so I can’t speak to how crazy it gets in peak summer, but the vibe was relaxed and unhurried when I was there. Check-in was smooth, parking was straightforward (they have their own spots, which is clutch), and they were flexible when I needed to store my bags after checkout. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. For the money, especially if you want that apartment-style setup where you can spread out a bit and maybe prepare some of your own meals, Villa Jovovic is a solid choice. I’d definitely stay there again.
