You know what? I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Apartments Villa Stefan,” I was expecting some dated Eastern European setup that looked better in photos. But here’s the thing: this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those family-run spots where you can tell someone genuinely cares about making it work, not just filling rooms.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – and I mean that as a huge compliment. Each unit has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. The kitchens are properly stocked (not just for show), which honestly saved me a fortune since I could grab groceries and make breakfast instead of hunting for overpriced hotel food every morning. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, which seems basic but you’d be amazed how many places still mess this up. What really got me was the attention to small details – decent shower pressure, blackout curtains that actually block light, and enough outlets in sensible places. The kind of stuff that makes you realize someone has actually stayed in these rooms and thought about what guests need.

The location thing is interesting because it’s not right in the tourist chaos, but that’s actually perfect. You’re close enough to walk to the main attractions when you want to, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds of people taking selfies outside your window at 7 AM. I found some great local spots just by wandering around the neighborhood – there’s this little bakery about two blocks away that clearly caters to locals, and a small market where the prices are reasonable instead of tourist-inflated. The staff genuinely knows the area too, which makes a difference. When I asked about getting to a specific museum, the woman at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – she actually drew a route that avoided construction and mentioned which bus stop was less crowded.

Look, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or a concierge in a suit. But that 8.6 rating makes perfect sense when you stay there because it delivers exactly what it promises, maybe a bit more. The whole experience feels authentic rather than polished to within an inch of its life. I’d definitely book it again, and honestly, I’ve started recommending it to friends who want somewhere comfortable and real without breaking the bank. Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard – they just focus on doing the basics really well.

  The location is perfect, there are a couple grocery stores nearby, restaurant etc. The walk to the beach /boulevard is not long either and walking to the old town along it is quite enjoyable and changes with the timebof day.
  
  The room itself is okay. There are basic amenities like a smal kitchenette, but no oven. Basic cooking utensils and a stove. Pretty basic bathroom, but decent.
  Some bits here and there looked a little "crusty" and old but that didn't bother us because all the hosts themselves were very friendly and helpful. They even arranged a rental car for us on very short notice and were there with us to make sure everything went smoothly.

  We absolutely loved this place! Room was clean with a cute little balcony, working AC, cameras inside the building made us feel very safe. Excellent location, walking distance to the central areas and the seaside, yet it is quiet and calm in the backstreet. Also very close to the bus station we could walk with our luggage after arrival easily without getting tired. Close to one of the main roads where buses go to beaches in other areas of Budva as well, such as Sveti Stefan. Everything was perfect, and we would like to say thank you specially to our host Mico who was very friendly, helpful, timely, and professional. He was very attentive and willing to answer all of our questions to great extent. We will recommend this place to all of our friends and family who plan on visiting Budva. 10/10

  We really liked everything! The room is beautiful, completely consistent with the photo. We had two balconies.
  The owner is a wonderful and responsive person.
  Parking was provided right under the house, as agreed in advance.
  The sea is within walking distance.
  Several grocery stores nearby.
  WiFi speed was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: The neighbors were quite noisy.
  Other buildings are close to the accommodation, you become a participant in a reality show.
  Other minor details, like the lack of washing powder (we left ours for the next travelers), mosquitoes. Nothing that could affect our general impression of the object or our vacation.

  The host Micho is a superb guy who was extremely helpful! The place is super clean and its location was ideal for a short walk into Budva but far enough away to escape all the noise. Air con was essential and kept the room cold to escape the heat.
  
  What could be improved: The bed sheets were like prison sheets, almost plastic! Please change these 😅
