Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to ASTAKOS apartments in Budva, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these unassuming spots end up being exactly what you need, and ASTAKOS really surprised me in the best way.

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The apartments are clean, properly equipped, and actually feel like someone lives there rather than those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. I mean, you’ve got a real kitchen where you can make proper coffee in the morning – and trust me, after walking around Budva’s old town until your feet hurt, being able to come back and just chill with a home-cooked meal hits different. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure everything worked properly, which honestly isn’t always a given in this part of Montenegro. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no endless forms or pushy upselling, just “here’s your key, here’s how the WiFi works, let us know if you need anything.”

What really sold me on the place though was how it sits in relation to everything else you actually want to do in Budva. You’re not stuck way out in some resort bubble, but you’re also not dealing with the chaos right in the thick of the old town (which gets pretty wild during summer nights, especially on weekends). It’s that sweet spot where you can walk to the beach without it being a major expedition, grab groceries without needing a car, and actually get some sleep when you want to. The 8.0 rating makes total sense when you think about it – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but it delivers on what most people are actually looking for when they travel. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to spend most of my time exploring rather than lounging around the accommodation. Sometimes the best places are the ones that just work well without making a big fuss about it.
