You know what struck me first about Astor apartments? It’s actually tucked away on Prvomajska street in a way that feels residential but isn’t boring – I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the Budva chaos, but when you step outside in the morning with your coffee, it feels like you’re staying where locals might actually live. The building itself is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy, but honestly that 8.5 rating makes sense once you settle in for a day or two.

The apartments themselves are well… they’re proper apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be apartments. I’m talking about actual kitchen space where you can make breakfast without bumping into the fridge, and the kind of living area where you can spread out your stuff without everything ending up on the bed. The whole setup feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I actually prefer – though if you’re expecting daily housekeeping and turndown service, this probably isn’t your vibe. What really works here is the practical stuff that three-star places sometimes mess up: the wifi actually reaches every corner (tested while video calling from the bathroom, don’t ask), hot water doesn’t run out mid-shower, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing.

Here’s the thing about the location that you won’t get from looking at a map – Prvomajska connects you to the old town without putting you right in the middle of the summer madness. When those cruise ships dump everyone onto the streets around 10 AM, you can duck back here for a quiet coffee break. The closest beach access is about seven minutes on foot, and it’s not the main tourist stretch, so you’ll see more Serbian and Montenegrin families than Instagram influencers. There’s a small market practically next door where the owner (older guy, always in a blue cap) actually gives decent recommendations for day trips if you chat him up. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak season – the street spaces fill up fast, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you don’t mind a short walk with your luggage. Honestly, for what you pay versus what you get, especially if you’re planning to explore Montenegro beyond just beach lounging, Astor apartments hits that sweet spot of comfortable, practical, and reasonably priced without feeling like you’re roughing it.

  Great place to rest. Wonderful view, comfortable rooms, a lot of space in the apartament, but the best is huge tarace with kitchen – view is breathtaking! The hosts are nice and helpful. Beach is a 15-minute walk, same as old town and centre Budva. We have a wonderful time here. Thank you so much for a great vacation! 🙂

  The balcony was really nice and big. The kitchen had a lot of utensils and things for cooking. The location is decent – only a 10 min walk from the beach and old town.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom had a very unpleasant smell. We contacted the host for help and were told to pour water down the drain which did not help. By the end of our 4 day stay the smell was unbearable and we could not use the bathroom. This may be a city wide problem but it was very unpleasant.
