Ayca Central Apartment
You know what's funny about Budva?
You know what’s funny about Budva? Everyone rushes to the Old Town or hits the beaches, but some of the best finds are tucked away on these quieter residential streets. Ayca Central Apartment sits right on 13. Jula street, and honestly, the location couldn’t be more perfect if you tried. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the chaos of the tourist zone, but when you want to escape back to your place, it actually feels peaceful. The building itself has that typical Montenegrin apartment vibe – nothing fancy, but solid and well-maintained. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to staying right in the thick of things near Slovenska Plaža.
The apartment itself punches way above its 3-star rating (seriously, a perfect 10 from guests isn’t something you see every day). The space feels lived-in rather than sterile hotel-room bland, which I actually prefer. You’ve got everything you need for a proper stay – a decent kitchen if you want to grab groceries from the Franca market that’s just up the street, and the WiFi actually works reliably, which… well, anyone who’s traveled through the Balkans knows that’s not always a given. The owners clearly know what travelers want because there are thoughtful touches everywhere – proper hangers, enough outlets for your devices, blackout curtains that actually block the morning sun. Plus, parking around here isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the center. You can usually find a spot within a block or two, and locals don’t seem to mind if you ask for directions in broken Serbian – they’re surprisingly patient.
What I love most is how this place puts you right in the rhythm of actual Budva life. There’s a little bakery two streets over where you can grab burek for breakfast (the cheese one is incredible), and you’re close enough to walk to Mogren Beach when you want something less crowded than the main strips. The apartment works especially well if you’re planning day trips – Kotor’s only about 20 minutes by car, and you can catch buses to other coastal towns from the station that’s maybe a 10-minute walk away. Look, this isn’t going to wow you with marble lobbies or infinity pools, but it gives you something better: a genuine base to explore Montenegro without feeling like you’re trapped in tourist-land. For the price point and that location on Jula street, it’s honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some sort of local code.
Hotels near me in Budva offer convenient access to the beach promenade, where guests can easily walk to ancient city walls, marina, and vibrant nightlife venues.
