Look, I'll be honest – when I first saw the address for Azurium Budva, I thought I'd booked some random apartment tucked away in a residential building.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for Azurium Budva, I thought I’d booked some random apartment tucked away in a residential building. And well, I sort of did, but in the best possible way. It’s actually on the second floor of this charming building on 13. Jula street, which sounds confusing until you realize you’re literally a five-minute walk from Budva’s old town walls and maybe three minutes from the main beach strip.
The thing about this place is that it feels like staying at your Montenegrin friend’s nicely renovated apartment rather than a traditional hotel – and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need: proper WiFi (thank god), decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and windows that actually block out the street noise when you want to sleep in. Speaking of noise, you’re far enough from the main Slovenska Plaža party scene that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM, but close enough that you can walk to those waterfront bars in flip-flops. The building itself has that Mediterranean apartment vibe – you know, the kind with thick walls that keep things cool during those brutal July afternoons when the sun just refuses to quit.
What I really appreciated was how the space felt lived-in but clean, if that makes sense. The furniture isn’t some generic hotel catalog stuff – there’s actually personality here. Plus, parking in Budva can be an absolute nightmare during summer (I mean, you’ve seen how those narrow streets get packed), but they’ve got you sorted with a spot that’s not miles away from the entrance. The 7.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort with marble everything, but for a 3-star place, it delivers on the stuff that actually matters. You’re close enough to walk to Tre Canne for dinner without needing a taxi, the Citadel is right there when you want to pretend you’re cultured for an hour, and when you inevitably end up at one of those beach clubs that play music until sunrise, you can stumble home without breaking the bank on cab fare. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was planning to actually explore Budva rather than just plant myself at a resort pool for a week.
