Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Basilica Apartments,” I was expecting something either really religious or kind of stuffy. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those 3-star spots that punches way above its weight, and honestly, that 9.2 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here.

The thing that got me right away was how the staff just… gets it. You know how some places feel like they’re going through the motions? Not here. Check-in was smooth – no weird upselling tactics or making you feel like you’re bothering them. The apartments themselves have this lived-in quality that I mean in a good way. They’re not trying to be some Instagram-perfect space, but everything works properly and there’s actual character to the rooms. The kitchenettes are legit functional too, which is rare – I actually cooked breakfast a couple times instead of just using the mini-fridge for leftover takeout.

What really sealed it for me was the little details that show someone’s actually paying attention. The Wi-Fi doesn’t mysteriously cut out every few hours (you’d be amazed how many places mess this up), the water pressure is solid, and the beds are comfortable without being so soft you feel like you’re sinking into quicksand. I stayed during what seemed like a pretty busy period, but the noise levels were totally reasonable – you get the sense that the walls aren’t paper-thin like some apartment-style places. The cleaning staff clearly takes pride in their work too, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re settling in for more than just a quick overnight stay. There’s something about having a proper base where you can spread out a bit, maybe do some laundry, that changes the whole travel experience. It feels more like staying somewhere rather than just crashing for a few hours between sightseeing marathons. The location worked out perfectly for what I needed, though I’d definitely recommend checking out the area beforehand to make sure it fits your plans – it’s not necessarily walking distance to everything, but that also means you’re not dealing with tourist chaos right outside your window.
