Honestly, when I first pulled up to Bonaca Apartments on Petrovačka street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – but you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots turn out to be the real gems. This little apartment complex sits in one of those quiet residential pockets of Budva where you actually hear birds in the morning instead of just tourist chatter, which is saying something during peak season.

The thing about Bonaca is that it feels more like staying at a friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. The apartments themselves are properly spacious – I mean, you can actually unpack your suitcase somewhere other than the bathroom floor, which anyone who’s done the Adriatic coast knows is a luxury. The kitchenettes are basic but functional (perfect for those overpriced grocery runs to the Mega Market down the hill), and honestly, after a few days of restaurant meals, being able to make your own coffee exactly how you like it becomes surprisingly important. The balconies vary depending on which unit you get, but even the smaller ones catch decent morning light, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the upper floors, you’ll get glimpses of the sea between the buildings.

What really sets this place apart though is the location – and I don’t mean that in the typical “convenient location” marketing speak way. Petrovačka street is one of those spots where you’re close enough to walk to the Old Town (maybe 8-10 minutes if you’re not dragging your feet), but far enough removed that you’re not dealing with the absolute chaos of Slovenska Plaža every time you want to leave your room. The walk into town is actually pretty pleasant – you wind down through some of the older neighborhoods where locals are still hanging laundry and tending little garden plots. There’s a decent bakery about halfway down where the burek is legitimately good, not tourist-trap good. Parking can be a bit tricky during July and August (like everywhere else in Budva), but there’s usually street parking available if you’re willing to walk a block or two. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy but gets the important stuff right, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re more interested in exploring Montenegro than lounging around your accommodation all day.

  Great location close to Old Town, yet away from the crowds. Beautifully decorated apartment and very responsive hosts. Appreciate the air conditioning, especially as a reprieve from the summer heat!
  
  What could be improved: Some noise from the neighbours, and the bed is not so comfortable (springy). There’s a short flight of stairs from the parking / arrival to the apartment building.

  The apartment is small, but good equipped for a comfortable stay. Everything was new and working (fridge, stove, TV), the bed sofa was pretty big, clean towels and bed sheets to use. A highlight definitely is the location of the apartment, next to a supermarket, pharmacy, the city promenade, famous beaches and in a walking distance to the old city of Budva. It is also close to the bus station and a tourist information center. The host was very nice to allow a late check out, she was also very honest regarding a fee that I paid twice without noticing and she had a fast and good communication with me before and during my stay. It was very worth for me to book this place!
  
  What could be improved: To get to the apartment you need to take some stairs, it is not a lot and you don't get tired from it, but maybe for elderly people can be a little more difficult the accessibility.

  wonderful apartment! Everything matches the photos, accommodation at first floor in private house. Perfect location, close to two beaches (highly recommended Morgan beach), cafes and the Old town, just a 5-minute walk. The owner is very friendly and helped with transfer from airport.

  It was very clean, cozy, all things were new. The bathroom was excellent and the kitchen was well equiped. The bed was very comfortable.

  The location is good, both for the old town and the tourist information centre from where many organised tours leave. The room had everything necessary. My only problem was the noise coming from the adjacent rooms until late into the night.

  A great place with great people. Very close to the Old Town, restaurants, markets, but also far enough from all that to relax and chill. We had a wonderful stay @ Bonaca Apartments and if we will have the chance we will return.

  Everything was perfect, Maja‘s father was waiting for us and was very kind and available for every needs trough our stay. The appartment is perfectly located in the old town and still you have peace and do not hear any happenings in the Centre. The bus station for the shorter destinations to the different seas around Budva is two minutes walk away, so you can save a lot of time. The appartment has everything you need and my friend and I can highly recommend it. Thanks for everything!

  Location is very good, near to oldtown 3min walking.
  
  What could be improved: Room is very small and kitchen is not useful. Bed is not comfortable. We didn’t get the room which we saw on booking’s website, they said there is another Bonaca apartment and the photos belong to the other one. In the middle of the night we woke up with very bad smell that was coming from in the apartment. Somebody was cooking. There's a big gap under the door. Also, after checking out, we realized that we had forgotten a box of chocolates in the room. We immediately wrote to the owner of the room, but she said that the cleaning staff had thrown away everything we had left. I think it should have been thrown after our approval, at least notified to us, because we were still nearby that day and we could go back and get it. They should not have thrown away the thing we forgot without knowing its importance to us, they should have kept it for us at least for a while.
