Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Budva Gate by In Property, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. I mean, Budva can be pretty hit-or-miss with accommodations, especially during those crazy summer months when half of Europe descends on Montenegro’s coast. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about getting the details right. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and can tell someone’s actually thinking about your experience? That’s what happened here. The check-in was smooth – no awkward waiting around or confused looks when I mentioned my reservation. And honestly, the location works really well if you want to be close to Budva’s action without being right in the thick of those late-night party crowds stumbling down the main strip. You’re still walkable to everything that matters, but you can actually get some sleep if you want it.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to punch above their weight class. I’ve stayed in plenty of 4 and 5-star places along the Adriatic that felt more sterile and less thoughtful than this spot. The rooms are clean and well-maintained – not fancy, but everything works the way it should. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be amazed how many places get this basic thing wrong), and there’s decent water pressure in the shower, which becomes pretty important after a day of exploring Montenegro’s hiking trails or lounging on those pebble beaches. The WiFi holds up well too, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or catch up on anything work-related.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the local knowledge. When I asked about getting to Sveti Stefan for photos, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist bus. They told me about the better viewpoints and when the lighting works best, stuff you only know from actually living here. Same thing with restaurant recommendations – they steered me toward places where locals eat, not just the obvious tourist traps near the Old Town walls. That kind of insight makes a huge difference when you’re trying to experience a place authentically rather than just checking boxes.

The 9.5 rating honestly makes sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s not trying to be something it isn’t – just solid, thoughtful hospitality that covers all the basics and then adds those little extras that show someone cares. During my stay in late June, the place stayed surprisingly quiet even though Budva was pretty packed with visitors. I could hear the distant hum of nightlife from the Old Town, but it felt more atmospheric than disruptive.

If you’re the type who needs marble bathrooms and concierge service, this probably isn’t your speed. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring Montenegro that doesn’t break the bank and actually enhances your trip through genuine local connections, Budva Gate delivers exactly what you need. Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that simply do the fundamentals really, really well.

  Stunning view, absolutely stunning, and You have it not only on terrace and living room, but also from sleeping room.
  There is full garage for Your car with rolling doors. Comfortable beds, contemporary furniture, fully equipped kitchen with BOSCH dishwasher and induction hob, great LG fridge. Bathroom is also designers act.
  Apartment is 300 meters above DUKLEY beach, and around 1100m from Bečići beach. I recommend taking Your car and going left to Drobni Pijesak beach, Kamenovo, Crvena Glavica, Queens beach, Kings beach etc.
  
  What could be improved: By foot it ll take You around 20 to 25 mins to reach Old town and it ll be great experience because of stunning views, but when You come back last 200 meters can be daring. If You are with kids You better take car and park by Hotel Park.
