So here’s the thing about Budva Gate Penthouse – when I first walked into this 8th-floor spot, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another apartment building complex. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in the most unassuming packages. The elevator ride up gives you this anticipation, and then boom – you step into what’s actually a pretty impressive penthouse setup that makes you forget you’re in a residential building.

The location on Ulica 18. Jula is… well, it’s interesting. You’re not right in the thick of Budva’s old town madness (which, trust me, can get pretty overwhelming during peak summer), but you’re close enough that a ten-minute walk gets you to all those medieval walls and waterfront restaurants everyone talks about. I mean, sometimes you actually want to escape the tourist chaos and just chill somewhere that feels more like where locals might live. The building itself sits in this newer development area that’s sort of become Budva’s modern expansion – it’s got that clean, contemporary Montenegro vibe going on. Parking was surprisingly manageable here, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Budva’s old town with a rental car will appreciate.

What really got me about this place was the attention to detail in the penthouse itself. The space feels genuinely luxurious without trying too hard – you’ve got these floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Adriatic in a way that makes you want to just sit there with your morning coffee (or evening wine, no judgment). The furnishings hit that sweet spot between modern comfort and local character. Honestly, the kitchen setup impressed me more than some actual hotels I’ve stayed at – everything you need if you want to grab fresh seafood from the local market and cook up something amazing. The bedrooms are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped, and the bathrooms… well, let’s just say they’ve got that spa-like quality that makes you want to take longer showers than usual. One small thing though – the air conditioning can be a bit temperamental, so don’t be shy about asking for help if you need it. The 8.5 rating makes total sense when you factor in the whole package: location flexibility, genuine comfort, and that penthouse factor that makes it feel special without breaking the bank like some of those boutique places down by the marina.

  It has a terrace with a wonderful view. A very spacious apartment.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, the construction quality of the apartment is quite low. We had serious difficulty heating it. Water got through the windows onto the floor. There is a similar situation on the kitchen wall and they were not looked at before we arrived 🙁

  Apartment is big and clean. The location is fine to approch two different beach by walking.
  
  What could be improved: Taxi driver drop me off at the placce I don't have any idea as taxi driver called landlord. The reason is landlord changed apartment for me rather than the penthouse I booked. As a family with 3 kids, we are lazy to change back to penthouse then we accept the change to the apartment.
  The address provided on booking.com is not accurate. I cannot find it by google map at all. Bit of anoying.
  
  Taking taxi in this country is kind of scam. They want to charge me 100 euro from Tivat to Budva which is around 20km. I will not come back to this country at all.
