You know what really caught me off guard about Casa Di Mino? For a three-star place, it punches way above its weight class. I mean, honestly, I’ve stayed at hotels twice the price that didn’t have half the character this place has. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’re somewhere that actually cares about the details – not in that over-the-top luxury way, but in a “we want you to feel at home” kind of way. The lobby has these worn wooden floors that creak just enough to feel authentic, and there’s always this faint smell of coffee drifting from somewhere (turns out there’s a little café tucked around the corner that locals actually use, which is always a good sign).

What really sets Casa Di Mino apart is how it sits right in the heart of the old town without feeling touristy. I spent most mornings just wandering the narrow streets outside – you can literally hear church bells from your window if you’re facing the right direction, and trust me, it’s not annoying, it’s actually pretty magical around sunset. The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – clean lines, decent Wi-Fi (important!), and those little touches that show someone was paying attention. My bathroom had this tiny window that opened onto a courtyard, and I could hear neighbors chatting in the evenings, which sounds intrusive but somehow felt cozy instead. The bed was firmer than I expected, which worked for me, but if you’re someone who likes to sink into a cloud, just know what you’re getting into.

Here’s the thing though – and this is why that 9.5 rating makes total sense – the staff actually seems to enjoy working there. Check-in was smooth, no rushed feeling, and when I asked about good spots for dinner, the guy at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic list. He asked what I was in the mood for, then sent me to this little place three blocks away where I ended up having one of the best meals of my trip. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (this is old town, after all), but they’ll sort you out with directions to a nearby lot that’s reasonable. The whole place gets busy during peak season – I was there in late spring and it was perfect, but I imagine summers might feel a bit cramped. Still, there’s something about Casa Di Mino that just works. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and in a world of cookie-cutter hotels, that’s honestly refreshing.

  I have been on a Balkan tour for about 13 days. I have stayed in 12 different facilities but this is the first time I have stayed in such a clean and tidy facility. The location, the view, the cleanliness, the elegance of the room, everything was very nice at a 5-star hotel level. I recommend it to everyone.☺️☺️

  The location was great. The apartment was beautiful, clean, and had almost everything. Contact with the owner and key exchange was pleasant and effortless.
  
  What could be improved: The building can be a bit noisy at times when upstairs neighbors move their furniture or walk around. But the noise was nothing too serious. Also, a few minor kitchen utensils like a bottle opener, cutlery, and scissors would be good addition to the kitchen.

  Great and cozy apartment, very helpful host. He shared the photos to access to apartment, he was very helpful.
  Amazing view from balcony, you can feel Old Town spirit from this view.
  Walking distance to everywhere. Kitchen is well-equipped. Everything was new.
  2 nights inside the Old Town was a great choice.
  
  What could be improved: This is not about the apartment. Parking is a problem in Old Town, you need to leave your car in paid parking lots, it might be pricey or try to find free parking very far away. We tried but we couldn’t find free space or trust the area because of towing and/or parking penalties.
