You know what? Centre Budva Green surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first walk up to this three-star spot, it’s honestly not going to blow you away from the outside, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about it that I actually loved. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be fancy, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk through the door.

Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re right in the thick of Budva without being stuck in the absolute chaos of the Old Town crowds. I could walk to Slovenska Plaža beach in maybe eight minutes (I timed it because, well, these things matter when you’re carrying beach gear), and getting to the old medieval walls took about the same. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star – nothing revolutionary, but everything works and it’s actually quite comfortable. The beds were surprisingly good, which honestly can make or break a trip. What I really appreciated was how quiet it got at night; you’re close enough to hear some of the evening buzz from the restaurants and bars, but it’s not going to keep you up unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper.

The breakfast situation is pretty decent – nothing fancy, but they had local cheese and prosciutto that was actually worth getting up for, plus strong coffee that didn’t taste like it came from a packet. I spent a lot of time just sitting in their little outdoor area in the mornings, watching Budva wake up slowly. Staff-wise, they know their stuff about the area – the front desk guy (I think his name was Marko?) gave me spot-on recommendations for restaurants away from the tourist traps, including this little place up the hill that serves the most incredible seafood risotto. The whole place has this relaxed, family-run feeling even though it’s clearly a proper hotel operation. Look, it’s not going to be the most Instagram-worthy place you’ve ever stayed, but if you want to actually experience Budva rather than just pose in front of it, Centre Budva Green hits that sweet spot of comfort, location, and authenticity that’s getting harder to find along the Montenegro coast.
