Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Cittadella Studios when I first pulled up – I mean, it’s a 3-star place and honestly, those can go either way. But this little gem actually surprised me in the best possible way. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone really cares about the details here. It’s not fancy in an Instagram-perfect way, but it’s got character, and after staying at too many cookie-cutter hotels, that matters more than you’d think.
The studios themselves are what really won me over – they’re designed like someone actually lives there, not just passes through for a night. I’m talking real kitchen setups where you can actually cook something more elaborate than instant noodles, and honestly, after a week of restaurant meals, being able to grab fresh stuff from the local market and make breakfast felt like luxury. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the whole vibe is just… relaxed. You’ll hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper, but it’s the good kind – life happening around you, not traffic chaos. What struck me most was how the staff genuinely seemed to know the area. When I asked about getting around, they didn’t just hand me a tourist map – they actually sat down and marked out the routes locals use, pointed out which places get crazy crowded and when to avoid them. That kind of insider knowledge you just can’t get from booking sites, you know?
The thing about this place is it sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not paying tourist prices for your morning coffee. I’d walk out and within five minutes I’m having the best espresso at this tiny place the hotel guy recommended – locals lined up, no English menu, exactly what you want to stumble into. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with marble bathrooms or rooftop infinity pools, but if you want a place that feels authentic and actually helps you experience the city like someone who lives there rather than just visits, this is it. That 8.8 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days here – it’s not about flashy amenities, it’s about getting the fundamentals really, really right.
Hotels in Budva offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Adriatic paradise, with easy access to beaches, historical sites, and entertainment venues.

The location was the best asset of the apartment.
What could be improved: For the duration of our stay there was a really bad smell in the bathroom that seemed to get worse each day.Arturas from Lithuania – 6 July 2024 (9/10)
Everything was perfect – amazing host, and great apartment.
Very good location in the old town!Freddy from Germany – 30 June 2024 (9/10)
Very good, excellent place to stay in the heart of the city.
What could be improved: Maybe a bit small for a couple (the bathroom is tiny)Güzel from Turkey – 27 June 2024 (9/10)
The rooms were very clean. Although the apartment rooms are a bit small, you will not feel uncomfortable. The location of the apartment is very good. There are street pizzerias and nice cafes nearby. Igor helped us with everything. You can rent rooms without hesitation.

This apartment is located perfectly in Budva's old town and is very close to the Mogren beaches. It looks very similar to the pictures and the host is very friendly and attentive to any issues we had, inviting us to watch the euros at his restaurant/bar. The kitchen was also well stocked and had all the essentials such as oil, salt, pepper as well as some extra seasonings. Sweet snacks provided on arrival were much appreciated.
What could be improved: The apartment did not have very much free space to leave bags or bench space for cooking, which is clear in the pictures but did make the apartment feel quite cramped. The wifi also consistently cut out, however, the host was able to provide a replacement router to assist us with this issue.Sergiu from Romania – 20 June 2024 (9/10)
Owner is very friendly and helpful
Location is great, inside the old town with market very close, good sliced pizza just meters away
Room is small but well organised so we had everything we needed
Ouside can be a bit loud but the windows do a great job isolating the noise.
Bed is confortable, shower is good
Parking location not too far
Exact studio position inside the citadel best found through booking.com map location
What could be improved: There are some drawbacks:
City center is very crowded with tourists, center was hard to get to because of the construction work is town and the overpopulation of cars that the police had to limit
Bathroom sometimes gives off a very bad sewer smell
That being said, we did not find these problems to be huge and managed to have a very pleasant stay. Just be aware of these things when booking and be prepared for some time being lost getting to the parking locationSophie from United Kingdom – 10 June 2024 (8/10)
Lovely spot, easy location, had everything I needed. Host Igor was very welcoming and helpful.
What could be improved: Had to shut the windows in the evenings as the cigarette smoke from below came in and was a bit unpleasant. But had aircon so not too much of an issue.Anitakarabaja from Ireland – 21 May 2024 (9/10)
