You know what caught me off guard about City Montesun Apartments 2? It’s actually way better than you’d expect from a 3-star place, especially considering it’s right in the thick of Budva. I mean, when you’re staying on Mediteranska street, you’re basically in the heart of everything – and honestly, that can be a blessing and a curse depending on what you’re after.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly solid. Nothing fancy, but they’ve got this clean, no-nonsense vibe that just works. The kitchenettes are actually functional (I’ve stayed in places where they’re basically for show), and the air conditioning – well, you’ll be grateful for it in July and August when Budva turns into an oven. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty impressive considering you’re walking distance from all the bars and restaurants along the waterfront. The soundproofing is better than most places I’ve tried in Montenegro’s coastal towns. Parking can be a bit of a hunt during peak season – pro tip: get back before evening when everyone’s heading out to dinner, or you might find yourself circling the block a few times.

Here’s the thing that really makes this place work though – the location is almost unfairly good. You’re maybe a five-minute walk from the Old Town walls, which means you can actually enjoy Budva’s nightlife without dealing with expensive taxis or that slightly sketchy walk back to some of the hotels further out. And if you want to hit Slovenska Beach or Mogren Beach, you’re talking about a casual 10-minute stroll, not some major expedition. I found myself just popping back to the apartment during the day to escape the sun or grab something from the fridge, which is honestly one of those small luxuries that makes a vacation feel more relaxed. The neighborhood has that authentic Montenegrin feel too – there’s a little bakery around the corner where the locals actually go, and you’ll hear more Serbian and Montenegrin on the streets than English, which I kind of loved. Sure, it’s not some resort with a concierge and a pool, but sometimes you just want a comfortable base where you can come and go as you please without feeling like you’re living in a hotel bubble. For the price point and that 8.7 rating, it’s pretty clear other people have figured this out too.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Budva at least two months ahead for major events like Sea Dance Festival, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near the beach.

  Apartment had a bedroom and livingroom, so more than enough for me. (I was alone) i liked that they had a laundry machine and balcony as well.

  The host/ company representative was very friendly. Apartments were clean with all necessary things provided including coffee and coffee maker. The only thing that upset us a bit was hot water heater refusing to work in a day but we were given keys and could use the shower in another apartment in the same building. Cleaning was also nicely done during our staying.

  Well equipped apartment: with a kitchen, washing machine, lots of toiletries in the bathroom. Not small, suitable for a group of friends or two couples. Wi-Fi was good.
  The location was initially incorrectly indicated, so it was only possible to find it after calling the host (now it shows correctly). And we were told that the price in the Booking was not what it should have been, which was surprising. But we were accommodated at the booking price without any problems

  We really enjoyed our stay. The location of the house, especially to the seaside and market places are advantegous. Inside the bath, there’s a washing machine. It’s really important for families with a child.
  
  What could be improved: While there’s a free parking lot in front of the building’s entrance, they said that it’s not free parking lot, and not impossible to park in there. And upper guests of the house are terribly noisy! Other than that everything is so good.

  What could be improved: Mieszkanko jest położone na parterze, pomiędzy innymi budynkami, więc jest w nim ciemno. Troszkę ciasny salon, kiedy sofa jest rozłożona do spania. Sprzątanie powinno być dokładniejsze.
