That’s the kind of intel you can’t get from a guidebook. The rooms themselves are what you’d expect from a solid three-star – clean, functional, with that particular Balkan approach to interior design that’s grown on me over the years. Nothing fancy, but the AC actually works (crucial during those sticky July evenings), and the windows open wide enough to get a proper cross-breeze going when the temperature drops after midnight. I will say the walls aren’t exactly thick, so if you’re the type who needs perfect silence, pack earplugs. Though honestly, the neighborhood quiets down pretty well once the restaurants close – it’s not like you’re staying right on the main drag where the party crowd stumbles around until dawn.

What really won me over was the breakfast setup. They don’t try to do some elaborate buffet that ends up being lukewarm and picked over by 9 AM. Instead, it’s this more personal affair where they actually ask what you want and make it properly. The coffee’s strong enough to wake the dead, and they source their cheese and prosciutto from somewhere local that actually tastes like something. Plus, there’s this little terrace area where you can sit with your coffee and watch the town wake up – delivery trucks rumbling over cobblestones, shopkeepers hosing down their storefronts, old men setting up their chess games in the square. You get that authentic slice-of-life feeling that’s harder to find when you’re staying in one of those big resort complexes up on the hill. The location really works if you want to feel connected to how Budva actually functions beyond just the beach scene – you’re close enough to walk to everything that matters, but far enough from the seafront chaos that you can actually get some sleep.
