Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “family apartments” in Budva, I was expecting something pretty basic. But Dora Family Apartments actually surprised me in the best way. It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy but just gets everything right where it counts.

The apartments themselves have this lived-in comfort that you don’t get at those sterile resort places. I mean, you’re not going to find marble countertops or anything, but the kitchenette actually works (and trust me, I’ve stayed places where that’s not a given), the beds are properly comfortable, and there’s enough space that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night – you know how some places in Budva can get pretty rowdy with all the summer crowds, but this spot seems to attract families and couples who actually want to sleep. The AC works well too, which honestly saved my life during those sweltering July afternoons when the whole coast turns into an oven.

Location-wise, you’re close enough to everything that matters without being right in the chaos of the Old Town. I could walk to the main beach area in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen if I stopped for coffee along the way. There’s this little bakery nearby that does amazing burek – the kind of local spot you’d never find if you stayed at one of those big resort complexes up the hill. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven around Budva in summer will tell you is basically a miracle. The family running the place is genuinely helpful without being overbearing – they gave me actual useful recommendations, not just the touristy stuff everyone suggests. When my friend’s flight got delayed and she couldn’t check in until nearly midnight, they waited up for her without making a big deal about it.

What really won me over was how the whole experience just felt… normal, I guess? Like staying at a friend’s place rather than a hotel. The other guests were mostly families with kids who’d play quietly in the courtyard in the evenings, or couples like us just wanting a comfortable base for exploring the coast. It’s definitely not luxury – the shower could use better water pressure and the WiFi gets a bit spotty during peak hours – but for the price and that solid 8.0 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re the type who needs a spa and room service, this isn’t your place. But if you want clean, comfortable apartments with actual character in a city that can sometimes feel overrun with generic accommodations, Dora Family Apartments gets it right. I’d absolutely stay here again, especially if I was traveling with family or planning a longer trip where having a proper kitchen makes all the difference.

  Clean, comfortable, fully equipped apartment that fully satisfy my requirements. 5 minutes away from beach. Private parking. Very polite owner, help to solve some problems.
  
  What could be improved: Housekeeper don't speak English, so you have to communicate with owner by messenger if there is any issues.
  Windows frame expanding during the day due to heat and converge night time. So sometimes you can hear strong knocking sound from windows, that can be kind of scary.

  The location was very good, a lot of supermarkets, bakeries and snack shops around. Host is very helpful and responds very quick to whatsapp messages. There is also parking garage you can use for free.

  The design was very pleasant, and also the housekeeper was really nice and helpful throughout the trip. Overall it was comfortable to spend a short vacation in the apartment. The location is also superb, I could go to any place in the town on foot without any need to climb the hills
  
  What could be improved: From time to time there were some strange clicking sounds (I thought it's like voltage changes), got used to it in a couple of days, but I wish I didn't hear those.
  I was also missing a microwave oven.

  Perfect location, close to sea, many supermarkets around, room was clean and well equipped. The only thing I missed was microwave.
