You know what caught me off guard about Dragan Apartment? I was honestly expecting your typical budget crash pad when I saw it was a 3-star place, but this spot completely flipped my expectations. The moment I walked in, I realized someone actually cares about this place – and I mean really cares, not just the surface-level stuff most apartments throw together for tourists.

The first thing that hits you is how lived-in it feels, but in the best possible way. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged, like someone’s grandmother who has impeccable taste decided to rent out her spare place. The kitchen actually has proper knives (you’d be amazed how rare that is), and there’s this gorgeous old wooden dining table that’s probably seen a thousand conversations. I spent most mornings there with coffee, just watching the neighborhood wake up through these huge windows that let in incredible light. The bathroom’s compact but spotless, with one of those rainfall showerheads that somehow makes even a quick rinse feel luxurious. Small detail, but the towels were thick and actually soft – not those scratchy things you usually get.

What really sold me on the place, though, was how quiet it gets at night. I’m someone who needs proper sleep, and even with my street-facing room, the noise just… disappears after about 10 PM. During the day there’s this pleasant hum of local life – people heading to work, kids playing somewhere nearby – but nothing jarring. The owner (I’m assuming it’s Dragan, though I never actually met him) clearly knows his stuff about what travelers need. There’s decent WiFi that didn’t cut out during my Zoom calls, plenty of outlets in logical places, and – this was clutch – really good blackout curtains for those mornings when you just want to sleep in. Check-in was smooth too; got clear instructions ahead of time and didn’t have to hunt around for keys or anything annoying like that. Honestly, with a 9.3 rating, I was expecting maybe some inflated reviews, but after staying there myself, I get it. It’s not fancy in a flashy way, but everything just… works. You feel comfortable immediately, and that’s worth way more than marble countertops or whatever.
