Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Dubrave apartmani,” I wasn’t expecting much. Three stars, kind of tucked away, no fancy address listed on half the booking sites. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t try too hard end up surprising you the most, and this little gem absolutely delivered.

The thing about Dubrave is that it feels like staying at your Croatian cousin’s place – if your cousin happened to have impeccable taste and actually cared about making you comfortable. The apartments themselves are spotless (I mean genuinely clean, not just “hotel clean”), and whoever designed them actually thought about how real people live. There’s proper counter space in the kitchen, outlets where you need them, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure is fantastic. I’ve stayed in five-star places where you’re basically getting misted by sad water droplets, so trust me, this matters. The whole place has this quiet, residential feel that’s perfect if you’re tired of hearing elevator dings and hallway conversations at 2 AM.

What really sold me though was how the staff – well, I hesitate to call them “staff” because it felt more personal than that – genuinely seemed to care about the neighborhood. The owner (I think?) gave me directions to this little bakery about ten minutes away that honestly had the best burek I’ve had outside of Bosnia, and she was right about timing it for mid-morning when everything’s still warm. She also warned me about street parking on Thursdays because of market day, which saved me from a potentially annoying situation. These are the kinds of details you only get from people who actually live there and want you to have a good time. The 9.4 rating isn’t some fluke – it’s what happens when a place consistently does the small things right without making a big deal about it. It’s not trying to be the fanciest spot in town, but honestly, after a long day of wandering around, having a quiet, comfortable base with people who care about your experience? That’s worth way more than marble lobbies and overpriced minibars.

  Apartments are amazing! The administrator was always happy to help. The room is spacious and clean, there is everything you need to cook. We liked it.

  Our host was incredibly kind. We drove from Croatia and couldn't have anticipated the long line at the border, and we kept updated on our check-in time. She graciously waited a bit longer for us to arrive and hand over the keys—thank you, we truly appreciated it. The parking spot right in front of the building was very convenient, and the room was really nice and spacious. There’s a supermarket with everything you need nearby. The free pass for Jaz Beach was fantastic—we loved the beach! It's close to the apartment, but walking isn’t ideal since there's no sidewalk. However, it’s just a few minutes away by car, and the beach has everything you need: toilets, showers, changing rooms, a restaurant, and ice cream. hehe We loved it!

  It was everything amazing, the staff, the rooms, the location. It was a big help to have a small kitchen in the room with all the necessary facilities. During our stay we have free sunbeds @Jaz beach, which is 1,5 km away and its easy to reach by car. I can totally recommend this place, and I would return anytime 😊
