You know what hit me first when I pulled up to Dukley? The way it sits against the coastline – honestly, I’ve seen plenty of luxury resorts, but this one actually earns that 9.4 rating. It’s perched right on what locals call the Budva Riviera, and I mean *right* on it. You’re not walking ten minutes to get to decent water here. The valet took my car before I could even worry about parking (which, trust me, is a blessing in Montenegro during summer), and within minutes I was standing in a lobby that manages to feel grand without being stuffy. The marble’s got these subtle veins running through it, and there’s this soft echo when you walk – not the harsh kind you get in some places, more like the building’s just quietly impressive.

What really sets Dukley apart is how they’ve figured out the balance between isolation and accessibility. You’re tucked away enough that you won’t hear the party crowd from Budva’s Old Town – maybe a fifteen-minute drive when traffic’s decent – but you’re not stranded on some remote cliff either. The beach club downstairs is where you’ll probably spend most afternoons, and honestly, the staff there remembers your drink order by day two. I’m talking about real attention to detail, like how they position the umbrellas so you get shade exactly when the sun starts getting aggressive around 2 PM. The pools cascade down toward the water in this terraced setup that photographs beautifully, though you’ll want to claim a spot early during peak season. July and August get pretty packed with the yacht crowd from nearby marinas.

The rooms – well, mine faced the Adriatic, and I actually kept the balcony doors open most nights because the sound of waves hitting the rocks below is better than any white noise machine. Air conditioning was quiet (you’d be surprised how many five-stars mess this up), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually has decent pressure. Small thing, but the minibar prices weren’t completely outrageous, which I appreciated. What really impressed me was the restaurant’s dinner service – they source a lot of ingredients locally, and the seafood tastes like it was swimming that morning. The sommelier knows his Balkan wines too, which is refreshing when you’re tired of the usual Italian and French selections. Check-in was smooth around 3 PM, though if you’re arriving during the summer rush, maybe call ahead. The concierge team can arrange boat trips to the blue caves near Kotor, and they’ll give you the real scoop on which tour operators to avoid. This isn’t a place where you just show up and hope for the best – it’s the kind of spot where everything’s been thought through, from the lighting in the hallways to the way they time the evening entertainment so it ends before you’re ready for sleep.

  One of the best hotels which I visited. It was exceptional. Location of the hotel was perfect, room was clean, breakfast was perfect, but the most important was friendly stuff in hotel. Well educated to response to all requests. Tomo, Lili and Bozo were great as well as others.

  The rooms are very luxurious and spacious. Every possible amenity exists, the staff is extremely courteous and helpful and the food options are excellent. In addition, the location on the beach is wonderful and the taxi boat free of charge to the old city is extremely helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Since there is a lot of greenery, which is a good thing, the occasional ant may slip into the rooms. However, the staff were dealt with it efficiently and quickly.

  What could be improved: When we arrived we said we have an early morning flight. At the reception they said they would bring us a boxed breakfast. In the morning our flight was delayed, we called reception and said we would prefer to eat at the hotel restaurant, we were told "no problem". During the meal, a waitress approached us and demanded payment of 40 euros because we ordered a boxed breakfast. We paid and complained at the reception but nothing helped. This is not acceptable behavior, if you want payment you must warn in advance.

  The facilities were great. And they even upgraded us to a penthouse. The taxi boat is a nice addition. The kosher food was very comfortable for us, even though it should be upgraded, especially the variety. We checked out early in the morning and they packed us a breakfast to go
  
  What could be improved: Most of the staff could be more kind and with a better attitude. It’s always important for guests but especially when you are staying in a luxurious place like Dukley

  Amazing luxury resort with access to the beach in 3 different locations, with delicious restaurants, wonderful service and attention to all details. The welcome of the staff on the reception was beyond all expectations, they upgraded our room, explained the services of the hotel, drove us to our apartment and made us feel at home from the first moment. The rooms and the facilities are at the very high-end, same as the restaurants. And as a plus, we loved the taxi boat from the resort to the old town. Thank you all for the great experience – we will be back!
