Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places along the Montenegrin coast, but Eterno Villas honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re pulling up to Svinjiste (which, let’s be real, isn’t exactly the easiest address to find on your first try), you might wonder if you took a wrong turn somewhere. But that’s actually the point. This place sits just far enough from Budva’s main strip that you escape the summer chaos, yet you’re still close enough to walk into town when you want decent seafood or those late-night gelato runs.

The villas themselves feel like someone actually thought about how people live, not just how hotels think people should live. My room had this massive terrace that looked out over olive groves – you know, real ones where local families still harvest, not the decorative kind. The stone work is gorgeous, sort of modern Mediterranean without trying too hard, and honestly the bed was one of those where you actually sleep through the night instead of tossing around on some rock-hard mattress. What really got me was the attention to small things: proper blackout curtains (crucial for those bright Adriatic mornings), a coffee setup that doesn’t require an engineering degree, and – this might sound weird but hear me out – bathroom lighting that doesn’t make you look like you’re dying. The staff remembers your name after day one, which feels natural rather than forced, and they’ll give you the real scoop on where locals go for dinner instead of just pointing you toward tourist traps.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: the location is actually perfect if you want to experience Montenegro beyond the crowded beaches. You’re a quick drive to Sveti Stefan when you want those Instagram shots, but you can also hit some incredible hiking trails that most visitors never see. The pool area gets busy around 2 PM when families settle in for the afternoon, but early morning and evening it’s absolutely serene – just the sound of cicadas and maybe a distant boat engine. Parking is never an issue, which might not sound glamorous but trust me, after circling Budva’s old town for twenty minutes looking for a spot, you’ll appreciate it. The only tiny complaint I’d have is that room service stops a bit early, but honestly, that just gives you an excuse to explore the local konobas. I keep thinking about going back, which doesn’t happen often with hotels – usually once you’ve seen a place, you’re ready to try somewhere new. But there’s something about waking up to those mountain views, having proper coffee on your terrace, and knowing you’ve found a spot that feels both luxurious and real.
