Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Family Apartments Mont Budva, tucked away on Velji Vinogradi, I wasn’t expecting much. The street’s kind of residential and quiet, which actually turned out to be a blessing since you’re not dealing with the chaos that comes with staying right in Budva’s old town. But here’s the thing that caught me off guard: these apartments have this lived-in feel that somehow manages to be both homey and polished at the same time. The owners clearly put thought into the details – I mean, there’s proper kitchen equipment that actually works (you know how rare that is in vacation rentals), and the balconies… well, depending on which unit you get, some have these glimpses of the coast that make your morning coffee situation infinitely better.

What I really appreciated was how the place operates more like a small apartment building where people actually live, rather than one of those sterile hotel complexes. The neighborhood has that authentic Montenegrin vibe – you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyards, smell someone grilling fish in the evenings, and there’s this little bakery about a five-minute walk down the hill that locals queue up at every morning. The location is sort of perfect if you think about it: close enough to walk into Budva’s center when you want the restaurants and nightlife (maybe 15 minutes on foot, less if you catch one of the frequent local buses), but far enough removed that you can actually sleep at night. Parking is straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around the Budva area in summer will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

Now, don’t get me wrong – this isn’t luxury accommodation, and the 7.7 rating reflects that honest reality. Some of the furniture has that slightly worn look you’d expect from a family-run place, and the WiFi can be temperamental during peak hours when everyone’s streaming. But there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The check-in process is refreshingly personal – they actually take time to give you proper directions to the beach, recommend restaurants that aren’t tourist traps, and explain the local bus system. I ended up staying an extra two days partly because I’d gotten comfortable, but mostly because the value proposition just made sense. If you’re the type who wants to experience Budva without paying resort prices or dealing with the crowds that pack the seafront hotels, this place delivers exactly what you’d hope for.

The price is reasonable. Its right in the city centre.

  • Very good value for money and stunning view! – Inna from Ukraine – July 2, 2023 (8/10)

I liked everything! The view on mountains from the balcony was stunning. The stuff was friendly and the facilities were good enough.

What could be improved: I didn’t know about the tourists registration and the stuff didn’t tell me about that. They registered me and all was fine but I wanted to know about that from the very beginning.

  • Good – Sarah from United Kingdom – June 21, 2023 (7/10)

The property had everything I needed for a comfortable stay, although the shower could be a bit better as other people say. I had no hot water but I think I should’ve played around with the shower gadget to fix this problem.
