The location is what really sold me on it. You’re close enough to Budva’s old town that you can wander over for dinner without breaking a sweat, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you’re not dealing with drunk groups stumbling past your window at 2am. And parking – which, let’s be real, is a nightmare in most of Budva during summer – was surprisingly manageable here. The staff actually gave me specific streets to try when the main spots were full, which tells you they know their neighborhood. The apartment itself had this lived-in comfort that a lot of hotels try to fake but never quite nail. Clean sheets that actually smelled like they’d been hung outside to dry, not just pumped full of industrial detergent. The kitchen was small but functional – I made coffee there every morning and picked up groceries from the little market down the street. There’s something about having your own space, even temporarily, that makes a trip feel less rushed.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it got at night. Budva can be pretty intense during peak season (I was there in July), but this area settles down after the dinner crowd disperses. You can actually hear the breeze coming off the Adriatic if you open the windows. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no twenty-minute pitch about spa services or restaurant reservations, just “here’s your key, here’s how the WiFi works, call if you need anything.” Sometimes that’s exactly what you want after a long travel day. The only thing I’d mention is that it’s not fancy – if you’re expecting hotel amenities like daily housekeeping or a concierge, this isn’t that kind of place. But if you want a comfortable base to explore Montenegro’s coast without paying resort prices, Flat Una delivers exactly what it promises.
