You know what really caught me off guard about Fontana apartment?
You know what really caught me off guard about Fontana apartment? The location is absolutely perfect, and I mean that in the most practical way possible. When you’re walking down Mediteranska street – which honestly feels more like a quiet residential road than a tourist strip – you’d almost miss the entrance if you weren’t looking for number 55. It’s tucked away on the first floor of this unassuming building, but that’s actually part of its charm.
The thing about staying here is that you get this weird perfect balance of being close to everything without being stuck in the chaos of Budva’s main tourist areas. I could literally walk to the Old Town in about eight minutes (I timed it because I’m obsessive like that), but when I came back at night, it was blissfully quiet. No drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM, no street musicians playing until dawn – just the occasional car and maybe some distant music from the coastal bars. The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room, which I really appreciated. There’s this lived-in quality to the place that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re crashing at a friend’s place who happens to have excellent taste in neighborhoods.
What really sold me on this spot was how the owner clearly knows what travelers actually need. The kitchen has proper dishes and decent cookware – not those flimsy tourist apartment sets that break if you look at them wrong. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the entire space, which honestly shouldn’t be remarkable but somehow still is in a lot of places. And here’s a detail that matters more than you’d think: the shower has proper water pressure. I mean, after walking around Budva’s cobblestone streets all day, you want a real shower, not some apologetic trickle. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but there are usually spots on the side streets if you’re patient, and honestly, you won’t need your car much once you’re settled in anyway. The beach is a pleasant ten-minute walk, the main shopping area is even closer, and there’s this little bakery around the corner that does incredible burek – the kind of local spot you’d never find if you were staying in some big hotel complex. It’s the sort of place where you start to feel like you actually live in Budva for a few days rather than just passing through it.
