You know what struck me first about the Fortune? It’s one of those rare places where the name actually undersells what you’re getting. I mean, sure, they mention it’s three minutes to the beach in the name – and honestly, it’s more like a two-minute stroll if you’re not dragging a cooler behind you – but what they don’t tell you is that you’re getting this incredibly polished experience without any of the pretentious nonsense that usually comes with a 4-star property.

The location is actually pretty genius when you think about it. You’re close enough to hear the waves if you crack a window at night (which I always do because there’s something about that sound that just knocks me out), but far enough back that you avoid all the beach bar chaos and those aggressive vendors who seem to multiply like rabbits during peak season. Check-in was smooth – none of that awkward hovering while they “find your reservation” that happens at so many places. The front desk staff actually seemed like they wanted to be there, which is refreshing. They pointed out a shortcut to the beach through this little side path that honestly saves you from walking along the busier main drag where all the tour buses idle.

What really gets me about this place is the attention to details you don’t expect. The rooms are quiet – and I’m someone who notices every creak and air conditioning hum. The beds are properly firm (not that sinking-into-quicksand feeling you get at some beach hotels), and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually block light, which is a godsend if you’re like me and the morning sun hits you like a spotlight otherwise. The bathrooms have decent water pressure too, which sounds minor until you’ve spent a week somewhere with that sad trickle that takes twenty minutes to rinse shampoo out of your hair. Parking was straightforward, no hunting around narrow streets or paying extra fees that magically appear at checkout.

I stayed there during what locals told me was their busier period, but it never felt crowded or rushed. The cleaning staff was efficient but not intrusive – you know how some places have housekeeping knocking at 8 AM like they’re conducting a raid? None of that here. What impressed me most was how the place manages to feel both relaxed and well-run at the same time. It’s got that sweet spot vibe where everything works without feeling corporate or sterile.

The 9.8 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a day or two. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the strip, but everything they do, they do really well. You’ll end up recommending it to people back home – the kind of place where you actually remember the name six months later instead of just calling it “that nice hotel near the beach.”
