You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Garni Hotel MB when I first walked up – it’s one of those smaller places that could honestly go either way. But man, was I pleasantly surprised. There’s something refreshing about a 3-star hotel that actually knows what it’s doing instead of trying to be something it’s not. The moment you step inside, you get this sense that someone actually cares about the details here. I mean, the lobby isn’t fancy or anything, but it’s clean and welcoming in that authentic way that feels more like staying at a well-run guesthouse than some corporate chain.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. The woman at reception – I think her name was Ana – didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map and call it a day. She actually sat down for a few minutes and marked out some spots that locals actually go to, plus gave me the heads up about which streets get crazy busy during rush hour (trust me, this matters if you’re planning to walk anywhere). The rooms themselves are honestly better than you’d expect for the price point. Nothing too flashy, but everything works properly – and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stayed at supposedly “nicer” places where the shower pressure was terrible or the AC sounded like a dying helicopter. Here, it’s all just… functional and comfortable. The beds are actually decent too, which is saying something. I’m usually tossing and turning the first night somewhere new, but I slept like a rock.

The whole place has this quiet efficiency about it – you’re not dealing with crowds of tour groups or kids running around the hallways at all hours. It attracts people who want a solid place to crash without all the fuss, which creates this nice, low-key atmosphere. Parking was surprisingly easy too (they’ve got a small lot out back), and check-in was refreshingly quick. I’ve stayed in places with twice the star rating that couldn’t manage either of those things properly. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy views, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need. If you’re the type of traveler who’d rather spend money on experiences than on thread count, this place makes a lot of sense. That 8.7 rating isn’t just fluke – it’s what happens when a hotel focuses on doing the basics really well instead of trying to be everything to everyone.

  I like the location, near the beach. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is very good.

  There's a small fridge in the room, which was super useful. Room service did a great job cleaning up every day. Balcony was very nice. Great water pressure in the shower. Really fantastic all in all.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast buffet was a bit limited in options for me. I'd appreciate more fruit options and veggies. I didn't like most of the fried meat. It was too greasy and not tasty. It was still decent though, I especially liked the pasta with cheese and the eggs.

  Good quiet location in safe area, close to the sea and just 10 minutes walking distance from Old Town, private parking, polite staff, delicious breakfast, room was very spacious and with renowned furniture, the cleanliness on high level.
