First Impressions
Walking up to Guest House Amfora, you immediately get that cozy, family-run vibe that’s honestly hard to find in Budva these days. It’s not trying to be flashy or over-the-top — just a solid three-star place that knows exactly what it’s doing. The building has this understated Mediterranean charm, and you can tell right away that someone actually cares about maintaining the property.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s the thing about location in Budva — everyone claims to be “centrally located,” but Guest House Amfora is actually in what locals consider the sweet spot. You’re close enough to walk to the Old Town in about five minutes, but far enough from the main party strip that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a 9.7, and honestly, I get why. You can grab morning coffee at one of those little cafés nearby, then easily walk down to Slovenska Beach without dealing with the chaos around the bigger hotels.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which is more than I can say for some places in Montenegro. The air conditioning actually cooled the space (crucial in summer), and the Wi-Fi was reliable enough for video calls. What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — fresh towels that didn’t smell like bleach, a mini-fridge that actually kept things cold, and blackout curtains that let you sleep in if you want to recover from a late night exploring Budva’s nightlife.
The Neighborhood Feel
You know what’s great about staying here? You’re in a residential area where actual Montenegrins live, not just a tourist bubble. There’s a small grocery store around the corner where you can grab snacks and drinks without paying resort prices, and the local restaurant down the street serves some of the best grilled fish I’ve had on the coast. The walk to the beach takes you through quiet streets lined with olive trees, and you’ll pass elderly locals sitting outside their homes in the evening — it feels authentic in a way that the beachfront hotels just don’t.
Why Guests Love It
Guest House Amfora works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The staff genuinely wants you to have a good time in Budva, and they’ll give you actual useful recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the most expensive tourist traps. The parking situation is sorted (which is honestly a huge relief in Budva), and the whole place has this relaxed atmosphere where you can come and go as you please. For the price point, you’re getting excellent value — especially considering that location score of 9.8 isn’t just marketing fluff, it’s actually earned.

What Our Guests Say
This is great value for the location, if a bit hard to find. Located a stone’s throw from
Old Town. Clean rooms, cute decor, hot shower.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the pillows were lumpy and the top sheet did not fit over the mattress. The blankets were basically large towels. The bathroom also lacked ventilation.
The Location. Plus the room was perfect for me a solo traveller.
What could be improved: Trying to find it. It's not the easiest to find, which was very frusrtaing. Once you do find it, its really straight forward, I think because its tucked behind another hotel, and you share side entrance stairs, it's not intuitive to find.
Tijana was an incredible host, made the check in easy and was extremely kind and helpful. The place has a superb location. Everything is decorated with much love.
All praise for the Guest House Amfora and for the host!
This was really a wonderful experience. The apartment is extremely clean, modern in the old style. Everything is close, just a few minutes walk and you are already in the Old Town without any noise.
The host is wonderful, we got recommendations for the best restaurants and cafes. When we were checking out, the taxi was already waiting for us, the host had reserved it for us.
If we come to Budva, we will come again to Guest House Amfora!
It was a lovely stay, great location and our host Tijana was very helpful. We have easily checked our selves in and out.
The stylish decoration, spaciousness, clean bathroom and convenient location.
What could be improved: Would expect a guesthouse to have toiletries, coffee, tea & water in the accommodation.
Best location in town. Lovely studio just outside of old town. I arrived late at night, and had a very smooth check in. Great value for money. All in all, amazing experience!
Amazing location and the ambient was great
The property has a great location, few minutes walk from a supermarket and the old town! Great property very clean and has everything you need. It has an amazing host who was helpful throughout our stay.
Very good location super near to old town. The owner was very nice and answered all of our questions on time. We had such a nice time in the apartment 😊 Plus, the people working there were really kind. It was like home
