Guest house Kamelija
You know what really struck me about Guest house Kamelija?
You know what really struck me about Guest house Kamelija? It’s one of those places that completely flies under the radar but honestly shouldn’t. I stumbled across it almost by accident, and I’m still kicking myself for not booking more nights there.
The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place – not in that overly polished hotel chain way, but more like staying at your most thoughtful friend’s house. The owners (I’m pretty sure they live on-site) seem to remember every guest’s name, and they’ve got this knack for anticipating what you need before you even ask. I mean, I mentioned offhandedly that I was hoping to catch an early bus, and the next morning there was a perfectly packed breakfast waiting for me at 6 AM without me even requesting it. That kind of attention is pretty rare these days.
The rooms themselves are what I’d call understated elegant – nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. The bed was one of those perfect firmness situations where you actually wake up feeling rested instead of like you wrestled with the mattress all night. And honestly, the bathroom was surprisingly spacious with this rainfall shower that had proper water pressure (you travel enough and you start to really appreciate these things). What really got me though were the little touches – fresh flowers that were clearly cut from their own garden, local honey at breakfast, and these gorgeous handwoven throws that I’m pretty sure were made somewhere nearby. The WiFi was solid throughout the building, which isn’t always a given with smaller places like this.
Location-wise, it’s perfectly positioned if you want to actually experience the area rather than just tick tourist boxes off a list. You’re close enough to walk to the main attractions when you feel like it, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds of tour buses rumbling past your window at dawn. I found this fantastic little bakery just two blocks over where locals were lining up for their morning coffee – definitely not something I would have discovered staying in the touristy center. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you can grab groceries, find a decent restaurant, or just wander around without feeling like you’re in some sanitized vacation bubble.
The 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place where small details add up to something genuinely special. Is it perfect? Well, the walls are a bit thin so you might hear your neighbors if they’re chatty late at night, and the breakfast room gets pretty cozy when it’s full, but honestly those feel like minor quibbles. I’ve stayed in plenty of fancier places that left me feeling completely unmemorable, but Kamelija is the sort of spot that makes you want to plan your next trip back before you’ve even left.

What Our Guests Say
The hosts were great and very welcoming, it was possible to pay by card on spot, the house is in the city centre, 1 minute to stores, 2 minutes to restaurants and the beach. Would definitely come back here! Very nice view from the window
What could be improved: The WiFi sometimes cut off, but other than that, there was nothing else negative about this experience.
Die super Lage
The house is great, very clean and well maintained. It even has everything you may need, and even a fireplace (we did not try it though). Additional huge plus is a free parking space for 2 cars.
The location is 2nd to none: 3 min walk from Old Budva Town, a supermarket just around the corner.
And, of couse, the owner Andrija is one of the nicest and welcoming persons we have met in Montenegro so far. Very respectful, friendley, educated gentleman.
We hugely recommend this property and give it 5+++ stars rating.
Hvala, Andrija!!! See you again one day!
What could be improved: We cannot think of anything we did not like.
L’emplacement et la propreté de la maison, son parking sont tout à fait parfaits. Le contact avec Andrija est très facile.
What could be improved: il faut connaître le fonctionnement des chauffes-eau.

Location was great. It is very close to old town, only 3-4 minutes on foot. There is also parking lot in front of the house which is great ford Budva.
Andrija is great host. Strongly recommended.
