The check-in process was refreshingly simple, though I’d recommend brushing up on a few local phrases if you’re not familiar with the language. They speak English well enough, but there’s something nice about making the effort, and they really appreciate it. The guest house itself has that lived-in charm that three-star places do best when they’re run by people who actually care. The rooms aren’t going to win any design awards, but everything works properly (the shower has decent pressure, thank god), and there’s clearly been thought put into the little things. Good blackout curtains, outlets where you actually need them, and – this was a pleasant surprise – the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just adequate.

What really sets this place apart though is the location knowledge you get from staying with locals. The Mrvaljevićs pointed me toward this small café about a ten-minute walk away that I never would have found on my own, and honestly, it ended up being one of my favorite discoveries of the trip. They also gave me the real scoop on timing – apparently Tuesday mornings are perfect for exploring the nearby market because all the vendors are there but none of the weekend crowds. That 9.4 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a few days and realize how much these small insights add up. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, especially in the evenings, which was perfect for me but might feel a bit sleepy if you’re looking for nightlife right outside your door. Parking wasn’t an issue the times I needed it, though I’d ask about it when you book if you’re driving. The whole experience just felt… real, I guess? Like staying with distant relatives who happen to run a really well-organized guest house. It’s not fancy, but it’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay because leaving feels like saying goodbye to friends rather than just checking out of a hotel.
