I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star guesthouse. But honestly, this place punches way above its weight class, and that 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve actually stayed there.

The thing about Vila Bak is that it gets all the little details right. I mean, sure, it’s not going to have marble bathrooms or a concierge in a fancy uniform, but the owners clearly care about making sure guests are comfortable. The rooms are clean – and I’m talking genuinely clean, not just “hostel clean” – with decent Wi-Fi that actually works (tested it thoroughly, no complaints). What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night. You’d think with the casual atmosphere there might be noise issues, but they’ve got that figured out. The walls are solid enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no twenty-minute spiel about amenities you’ll never use, just friendly staff who seem to actually know the area well. They gave me some solid recommendations for local spots that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps. The breakfast situation is simple but good – fresh bread, decent coffee, and they don’t try to oversell it as some gourmet experience. It’s the kind of place where you can grab what you need and get on with your day without any fuss. Parking wasn’t a headache either, which honestly can make or break a stay depending on where you’re visiting. Look, Vila Bak isn’t trying to be something it’s not, and that’s exactly why it works so well. It’s comfortable, reliable, and run by people who seem to understand that sometimes travelers just want a clean bed, good service, and fair value without all the pretentious extras. If you’re looking for over-the-top luxury, this isn’t your spot – but if you want a solid base that lets you actually enjoy wherever you’re visiting without breaking the bank, you’ll probably leave pretty happy.

  Really a great accommodation ! In a peaceful street, in a peaceful house, at 5 mn of the main street and 10 mn walk from the old town. The room, with balcony and little garden downward is well furbished (tv,fridge,wire to hang cloths outside) and bright. The ownner is friendly, welcoming and helpful. And all this for the same price i had in a tight dormitory in Budva just before !

  Everything from check-in to checkout went smoothly. I liked that my room was in the back, which was quiet and private. The bed was super comfortable, and I had a great rest. The location is perfect: a short walk from the bus station and super close to the old town.

  Fantastic hosts and a very nice room with all amenitites close the Old Town in Budva. Parking lot in front of the building (has to be reserved beforehand in high season). From me the deserved "10" note.
