Guest House Zuber Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Guest House Zuber, I’ll be honest — it’s not the kind of place that screams for attention from the street. This three-star property sits quietly on Omladinskih brigada, and you might actually drive past it if you’re not paying attention. But that’s sort of the point, I think. It feels more like staying at someone’s well-kept family home than a typical tourist hotel, which honestly was exactly what I needed after dealing with crowded resorts elsewhere in Montenegro.

Location & Getting Around

The location in Budva is actually pretty smart — you’re close enough to walk into the old town (maybe 15 minutes on foot), but far enough away that you don’t hear the late-night party crowds stumbling around. I mean, Budva can get pretty wild during summer nights, so this distance is a blessing if you want actual sleep. The parking situation here is fantastic too — they’ve got free private spots, which is honestly a huge deal because finding parking in Budva’s center can be a nightmare, especially in July and August.

The Room Experience

My room was simple but clean, with that slightly old-fashioned European guesthouse feel that I actually find charming. The furniture isn’t fancy, but everything worked properly — good water pressure, reliable air conditioning, and the bed was comfortable enough that I slept well every night. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets here at night. You know how some places claim to be peaceful but you still hear traffic or neighbors? Not here. The windows are decent quality and the location just naturally stays calm after dark.

Daily Life & Practical Stuff

The staff runs things pretty efficiently — they’re not hovering around constantly, but when you need something, they’re helpful and speak good English. Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a small restaurant nearby that locals actually use, which is always a good sign. I grabbed coffee and burek there most mornings, and it felt more authentic than hotel breakfast buffets anyway. The whole area has this residential vibe where you see people walking their dogs and kids playing — it gives you a glimpse of actual Montenegrin life rather than just the tourist bubble.

Why Guests Love It

Here’s what really works about this place — it delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Couples seem to particularly enjoy the peaceful atmosphere (I noticed several pairs who looked genuinely relaxed rather than rushed), and I can see why. The combination of being close to Budva’s attractions but away from the chaos, plus having reliable parking and a quiet night’s sleep, makes it a solid choice. It’s not going to wow you with fancy amenities, but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable base where you can actually rest between exploring the Adriatic coast.

Reviews of Guest House Zuber

  • Isabelle from France – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

Hébergement au calme mais restant à proximité de Budva et de ses animations . Tarif très abordable

What could be improved: L’accessibilité et le parking

  • Juan from Spain – 1 September 2024 (9/10)

La comunicación con el dueño fue perfecta y me recogió y acerco a la estación de autobuses. Sitio muy tranquilo y las instalaciones están muy bien, nuevas y limpias.

What could be improved: Algo lejos y mal comunicado, toca andar unos 15-20 minutos hasta la playa. Si tienes coche no hay problema.

  • Johanna from Germany – 20 August 2024 (8/10)

Good accommodation for a fair price. It was clean and comfortable, the family that lives in the house is very friendly. It’s not directly in the city but after you walk down to the main street you can take the bus.

  • Irena from United Kingdom – 22 July 2024 (8/10)

This is a cosy place with a beautiful view. Short and full of fresh air walk towards the nearest beach, there are many little shops very close. Hospitality was brilliant, and the host was very welcoming and took care of all my requests, very polite and lovely people. I recommend visiting nearby beaches but also going further into national parks and rafting on Tara – most of the agencies provide pick up at the bridge, which is very close to this exact location.

  • Cosmas from Hungary – 6 September 2023 (8/10)

The owner was very welcoming. The family was very lively. It's close to beach. The owner picked us at the bus station on arrival and dropped us as we were going. The wifi was good. The cleanliness was super. I liked the mountain view. Very calm place.

  • Dragan from North Macedonia – 15 August 2023 (8/10)

    Perfect

  • Marzhan from Turkey – 18 July 2023 (8/10)

Clean, comfortable. Boban Zuber was help us about all our needed. He was extremely welcoming and always greeted with a smile. We will visit here again. Definitely advised.

  • Anish from France – 15 June 2023 (9/10)

The location is peaceful and in the nature, it's a short walk down to the beach from there.
But mostly, quite a nice room with a fridge and an equipped bathroom.
Can't say I've ever relaxed and de-stressed better than this place.

What could be improved: My room's internet connection was not very nice – perfectly fine for browsing or for general use, but not reliable enough for work. This is a great vacation spot however. Too bad I had to work.

  • Julie from China – 23 September 2022 (5/10)

    Good value for the room

What could be improved: 1. Location was not ideal at all. If you don’t have a car , or don’t like to walk , not suggested to stay here . It’s about 1km from the guest house to the main road. And about 1h walk from guesthouse to the nearest beach.
    2. Wifi connexion was not good inside room.
    3. Since in mountains / nature, had Mosquitoes on balcony, and room (if you forget to close the door).

  • B from United Kingdom – 27 June 2022 (8/10)

The owners are the nicest people very helpful in every way, it's a bit in the nature which suited me most of all very quiet.
