Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in the Balkans, but Guesthouse Bogdanovic actually surprised me. You know how sometimes these smaller places in old towns can feel like afterthoughts? This isn’t one of those. It’s tucked right on Petra I Petrovica street – and honestly, if you don’t know Budva’s old town, that might not mean much to you, but trust me, this is the sweet spot. You’re literally inside the ancient walls, close enough to hear the church bells from Sveta Trojica in the morning, but far enough from the main drag that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM.
The thing about this place is that it feels like staying at someone’s well-kept family home rather than a typical guesthouse. I mean, it’s got that 3-star rating, so don’t expect marble lobbies or anything fancy – but the attention to detail is what gets you. The rooms have this mix of traditional stone walls (you can actually feel the coolness through them during those brutal July afternoons) and modern touches that actually work. The beds are properly comfortable, which… well, you know how hit-or-miss that can be in this part of Europe. There’s something about the way they’ve preserved the original architecture while making it livable – you’ll see what I mean when you’re brushing your teeth and looking out at medieval rooftops through a centuries-old window frame.
What really sold me on the place was how the owners clearly get what travelers actually need. Parking in Budva’s old town is basically impossible, but they’ll sort you out with advice that actually works – not just “there’s street parking nearby” nonsense. The 9.1 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s one of those places where small things are done right. The morning light hits the breakfast area just perfectly, and you can hear the Adriatic waves if you listen carefully between the seagull calls. During shoulder season (and honestly, that’s when you should visit Montenegro anyway – summer gets absolutely packed), you’ll have those narrow cobblestone streets mostly to yourself by evening. The walk down to the marina takes maybe two minutes, but you feel like you’re stepping between centuries. It’s not revolutionary or Instagram-perfect, but it’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall for this part of the Mediterranean coast.

What could be improved: A bit noisy sometimes outside, but never late at night.Excellent – Benjamin from United Kingdom – April 12, 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location in heart of old town, but quiet and calm enough to sleep and rest. Great communication with property before/during/at end of stay. Croissants and coffee in the room which was a lovely gesture, and the owner provided restaurant recommendations which were first rate. Including the pasta bar which was right next door. Would stay again.
